All I got out of it is-- is that ART is Round and can't use triangles!!!???
Journey songs are spiritual??? I don't think so!-- and I'm stupid cause I just enjoy the music and don't like circles, planets and -and--what were they talking about--TVL and Fire Wings???????

I think I'm gonna cry b/c those two are so DEEP that I'll never find my way out or in...?

I think TVL got what she deserves considering the bad liquor, even if she didn't know anything about it, she could have asked someone, anyone...I'm sure she knows SOMEONE !!!

I cannot address your personal spirituality or lack of it or to your lack of understanding the concept of symbolism and the metaphysical that has been used in connection to and within some of Journeys music. These are things I doubt you will ever comprehend in your lifetime it seems. I say that only because of your comments here and after you have supposedly read the thread and have listened to the music for so long and because of your age. That is not a dig it is just an unfortunite reality, but I'm a firm believer in never say never. I dont believe in the concept that you cant teach an old dog new tricks, I believe that thruout life it is a learning process which we will never have time to learn all but we can try to learn as much as we can and should remain open minded to allow ourselves to continue to grow and gain wisdom. So dont remain closed off for wisdom can still be achieved.
With that said I will now address this falicy that has been extended on the mundane and minor issue of the liquer once and for all.
Although I did not know of any of you I brought you 3 bottles that cost me roughly about $90......if that is considered cheap, so be it. I gave a bottle of Grey Goose that is not a fave of mine but one you all seem to drink and is considered a premium vodka which I paid $30 for. I gave a bottle of Bulliet Bourbon which I also paid $30 for where I live, maybe it can be obtained elsewhere at a cheaper rate. It is considered to be in the top of its class of bourbons and was the 2004 gold medal winner at the San Francisco world spirits competition and the 2006 silver medalist beating out more then 450 other bourbons. It received a ranking of 90 pts. (exceptional) from the International Review of Spirits and got a superb rating of 4 stars from the Spirit Journal. I will admit I did not give the best of tequilas, but Cuervo is very popular and a big seller so I went with majority rules since I didnt know any of you. Did go for the Cuervo Black which cost me $26. and is a new premium they have in the Cuervo line. The quality of liquor isnt always based on price. I will inform you that although I do not choose to drink much myself I do know something about liquor and dont need to ask someone. My family had and I personally managed a sports bar and resturant for a number of years in which I made the liquer orders and we had an extensive selection. We also had over 200 brands of beer both domestic and import, so I do know a little on the subject.
Anyway... those are the brands I decided to give to your group due to the fact that I did not know you or party with you. I also had bottles of Ketel One...which is superior to Grey Goose, imo...Cabo Wabo...my personal fav as a tequlia....and a bottle of Woodbridge which is a very fine superior bourbon, although the Bulleit is equally good. I choose to give those to another group of folks that I met and spent some time with. Unlike your group they were very appreciative of my generosity and we have remained in touch. They are a group of very friendly longtime Journey fans who I had a great time with after the Clearwater show that following Saturday and have since, they just dont frequent message boards.
Now I have addressed this issue for the first and last time. So you didnt like what I gave. Although I dont think it is correct to criticise when given a gift that is your opinion and your free to have it. It's unfortunite that you belief I " deserve what I get" for some reason that I do not understand other then speaking my mind on certain issues and having opinions, interests and activities which you do not have in common and cant relate too. I wish you no ill will and do not harbor grudges. Still enjoyed meeting you all however briefly and I'm glad you had a great time when you came to my state and at the concerts.....I know I did. 8)

Phyliss, I will say on record, I never bitched about what you gave. I think it was a kind gesture indeed. It's just unfortunate that you didn't appreciate the favours that were in turn granted to you. perhaps that is why the group spoke lowly of the booze you gave. Maybe they were disappointed by your lack of appreciation, and we all know what we are speaking of. I wouldn't worry about it happening again next time. There isn't going to be a next time.

Get off the bullshit Dean. You know that I appreciated the passes and that my comments to you were based on the treatment you have dealt me on this board not because of a lack of appreciation for said passes. For the zillionith time it seems...thanks for the passes, man! My statements on this board are, like I said in another thread, your lack of respect towards me before and after the concerts on this board. My point being that just because you gave me passes does not afford you the right to offend me, disrespect me or say whatever you damn well please to me. That was and is my point. Its quite a relief to me to know there is not going to be a next time. I have no desire for that to ever happen.....and if I was to desire to see the band again I have other means in which to do so...so dont believe that you are the be all and end all where Journey is concerned. Ya need to get over yourself a little I believe. Let this be clear on your only focus to the problem....THANKS FOR THE PASSES!!.....Now if you wish to address what the real issue is feel free to pm. Have a good one! 8)

You got it Andrew. I too wish that this would not occur and have requested many times that if someone has an issue or anything they wish to discuss with me they should pm. I was enjoying this thread and had an interest in the topic of discussion. Its too bad that it was directed off the topic and misdirected as a means on which to go after me personally once again.. Although I did not start this in this thread and felt the need to finally make a full statement in my own defense on the issue I will take responsibility for doing so and for my part in contributing to the disruption by responding at all. This was the last time I planned on addressing this issue. My apologies to you for my part in the misdirection of the thread. Hopefully it will get back to the discussion with something contributed of more value to the topic and not continue to be belitttled and steered off course, spirituality is an important and relevant topic here, imo. Frye has addressed some things that I have also been curious about for a long time. Like I said before in this thread, it would be an interesting question and topic of discussion as to the symbolism that has been used in the album artwork and in some of the songs and what meaning and relevance it has had with the band and whos idea it was to do so if you have the opportunity to interview Herbie or any other band member in the future.

Before I clicked the last page, I thought: "I'll bet its Prog".

I've been tempted to find a really old and somewhat controversial thread to bump but never got around to it.
