At the risk of the wrath of the Loons, I voted for the Voice of Rock, Mr Glenn Hughes.

Before frothing at the mouth, if any of you have never seen this guy or heard the depth and range of the material he can do, from the heaviest metal with Sabbath and Iommi he can out-black any soul singer worth a bean.

Plus, and most importantly NO one, sorry, NO FUCKER can scream like Hughes. He is 54 now, not much less than Perry and I saw him in a 200 capacity small club, very intimate and close up last year; jaw dropping. Like having God himself singing 'Mistreated' in your living room.

It gets no better...

Ok, insults away!

Hughes sounded GREAT on Deep Purple's Burn album...but I've always been a bit disappointed by the various other projects he's done. Maybe I haven't heard the right ones.

It's a good list, but Robin Zander from Cheap Trick and Joe Lynn Turner ought to be on it.

Oh yeah, and there is this dude named Soto............

If you remove Perry from this list the the most recognizable voice of rock in the last thirty years in my opinion has got to be Freddy Mercury. One of Queens songs comes on the radio and with the first vocal note you know exactly who it is.

The elephant man was recognisable, doesn't mean he'd win a beauty contest though....

No but much the same as that retarded reply we'd know exactly who it is.

And I did say it was MYopinion. I wasn't speaking for you or anyone else.

Dude, you enjoying a little man lovin?

Masculine? Duu-uude!

I been listening to a TON of the Pre ESC4P3 Journey lately (heavy, round-the-clock rotation, having just closed out fully upgrading the catalogue) with the Purry squeals and shrieks. So when talking about JJ who never rolled that way, the word masculine came out through osmosis and involuntarilly.

Wow, first I noticed that Bruce Dickinson wasn't on that list, but where are the LADIES?? Where are Janis and Ann Wilson, or Joan Jett? I know there aren't very many, but couldn't you come up with just one?
