Fun show. I thought Heart kicked everyone else's butt, though.
I was surprised at how great Ann still sounded.

Gretchen is from the area, so people here mostly go gaga over her anyway, but she sounded very good and I could see her crossing over into Pop now. I saw that performance as just that, her coming out as a crossover artist. She could use a hit these days anyway.

Oh and I was being QUITE fair to Genesis. But they are like every other band out there, not everyone will like them, I don't dislike them, but find them over rated for MY preference. Phil collins is one of the mosty over played artists on local classic rock radio here. Much like the Beatles.

Could be. She could definitely front a Heart tribute band lol

I'll leave the Beatles comment alone ;) To each his own.

I never said you were not being fair at all - I've always loved Genesis. Some albums/songs better than others, but they never really sounded like anyone else even when they were having hits. Genesis also sounds much different than Phil's solo career, so Tony and Mike (I'm leaving out pre-1976 for the sake of this discussion) brought a lot to the table. I like the Mechanics as well - my favorite album of theirs is M6. Saw them in the UK in 1999 for that one.

I know you aren't riding me, oh and I like the Beatles, I just don't think they are as big a deal as many people make them out to be, but that's their feelings. I like some of their music, but when I can hear at least one song a day by them EVERY day, and not from other artists, on the radio, I'd say that's over playing on the stations' part. to ME the Beatles are over rated, to other people, not so much.

Ozzy was singing to a backing track for both songs. Crazy Train was lipped for the most part.

And some of Zak's parts were pre-recorded also.

Highlight for me was that rendition of BARRACUDA with Alice In Chains, Gretchen Wilson and then of course Nancy Wilson joined them on guitar...WOW!! Blew me away...fucking incredible! :o

NickelBack's version of Sharp Dressed Man rocked too!

I just got done watching it and that was the highlight for me too...it freakin' rocked! Then of course Heart kicking some major ass!! 8) Ann's voice never ceases to amaze me. Gretchen Wilson really needs to give up country and become a rocker chick...she can sing some Heart! Loved Nickelback's performance too.

I may be completely off, but I think when Gretchen Wilson performed at the Houston Rodeo last year (or the year before), she did Barracuda as part of her set. Very cool! She can definitely rock!

Just caught Gretchen and Alice on YOUTUBE (missed that portion the night of the show) and DAMNNATION...that kicked my ass all the way back to 1977!!!! Perhaps if Ann ever tires of the road, Nancy and Gretchen should hook up...
