I don't know about this interview, but Perry has stated this MANY times, he would not go back to Journey, and that he enjoys his private life . Those of us fans that "truly support him" ALREADY know this, and respect his right to live his life the way he wants to.

So u really don't wish he'd make some more solo music? I have to admit I REALLY do. If that's means I don't "truly support" him then so be it. The man's voice is like nothing else & I just want more (not w/Journey tho).

By the way, my post above was not directed at you. Some fans here like to make it sound, as though, it is the Perry fans that "have issues" with Perry not singing or not being in Journey anymore, but really it is more of an issue with those fans that keep bringing this subject matter up here.

It's getting late and I will admit that I want something heartbreakingly new from Perry with the guys from Journey. A last ditch attempt, yes and maybe! Something to speak of the past, present and future of their time together because it was something so special. If only for the moment!

If he were to say he was retiring, or even something that some people could interpret as such and then decided to try one last hurrah, he would be called a liar by some people. If he comes out and says he's actually going to do something and then for whatever reason it doesn't happen he'll be called a liar by some people. He can't please everyone no matter what he says. So I think he's just simply telling us what he really feels and what he's really doing.

He obviously hasn't retired from music because he's involved in so many things with so many people. That may not be what we ultimately want from him, but it's a long ways from retirement.

I think the reason he's not saying he's not going to make another solo CD is because he honestly hasn't decided if he is or not. I think he's absolutely through with Journey because he has said so. If he was sure he wasn't going to do a solo CD, he'd say so.

That's probably a lot of it. Also, the comment he made in that one interview where he said he didn't want to be a parody of himself rings in my brain every time I read some comment about him not being able to sing the early Journey stuff in the original keys.

Well, don't take it that way cuz I still can't reconcile the embracing of JSS (which was great, loved to see it) by those who who shat all over Augeri from 98-05.

I didn't shat all over Augeri. I went to at least 8 concerts where he was the frontman (including 5 in the same year). I didn't think he compared to Perry. I hated his wiggle & his silly dancing. I think Butterfly is a piece of shit. But I've said several times, he was ok for a concert.

I can't watch him dance anymore with a straight face. I admire the guy, but so much has been made of the wiggle dance that it gets to me now. lol

My memory is going...I saw at least one concert each tour, often more like two to four each time - for the life of me I am trying to picture the "wiggle". I can't do it. I don't ever remember sitting there going, "Hmmm....Steve Augeri is wiggling....". I'm going to have to pull up a You Tube or a DVD and see what I obviously (didn't) miss.

I think that we get the same syndrome that teachers do. Time stands still for them and I think the same goes for some of us with people/groups we grew up following. Especially with those who aren't out there much anymore.
We think and expect that they can and should still be doing something for US. Yet, do we forget also how old some of these people are.
How long do we expect them to, and be able to still produce/do something we WANT?
It drives me nuts that some keep EXPECTING...just because someone gave us something great once, doesn't mean they owe us that for the rest of thier lives.
I totally respect how the dude has chosen to live his life. Kudos.
