If the name above was Jeremey, would you feel the same way? I'm just curious. I want to see a JSS show though. I'm willing to give that a chance.

Yes. I think Jeremey is a great singer too, and nothing against Jeremey, but I personally don't want to hear somebody "that sounds just like" Perry fronting Journey. If you aren't actually Perry himself, it just becomes karoake to me. I want somebody with Perry's passion for the music, but a uniqueness of their own. That's probably why I liked JSS fronting Journey right from the beginning. He's got a great voice and it didn't "sound just like" Perry's.

Btw, do we really think Arnel sounds like SP? I don't think he comes that close. JH sounds MUCH more like SP. I think Arbel brings a similar vocal range, but he sounds like Arnel singing not SP.

Re: JSS. I've seen his club tour. I was totally floored, amazed, etc, by some of his original material. And then the covers started and I realized local bands here perform those songs as good or better and it only cost $5.00 to see a good cover of "Crazy", "Long Train Running", etc, when I want to see that.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of JSS doing covers myself, but everything he does with Talisman and solo blows me away.

Actually I only have a few youtubes to go on. But yes! After hearing this comparison youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n3Z9KaGeUU it actually creeped me out just how much he does sound like Perry. Saying that, I'll give the new stuff with Arnel a listen and decide then. But I know the excitement of the JSS fronted Journey just isn't going to be there. For me anyway.

Talk to the hand! Just kidding, but you're barking up the wrong tree regarding "Crazy" with me. Staunch supporter of that one staying in the setlist. IMO, I've never heard a better version of Crazy than JSS'. LOL, Long Train Running I'll give ya, but not Crazy..........I won't go down without a fight! :P

US tour dates... that's going to be interesting to see since the media here barely even knows what Journey is up to these days. All the attention is overseas because of Arnel, so many bets that's where the touring will start and maybe remain.

This afternoon on the radio, just after playing a Journey song, the DJ begins to discuss this and he said, basically, "I had no idea what was going on, I just happened to run across something on the internet... seems that Neal Schon found this singer on YouTube and put him in the band."

One date has been announced...I believe it's the Donut Fest in Sheboygan, Wisconsin...but I think the Kirk Cameron Project is headlining.

Now, come on, Rhiannon. You KNOW he deserved the Oscar for his amazing portrayal of "Ned" in "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes".

lol.. :) I just don't get his set list. To go from a kick ass rendition of "Stand Up And Shout" to "Purple Rain", "Crazy"....I uhh...sorry...it just seemed so "cover bandish". Granted I'm not a JSS fanatic yet, but doesn't he have enough good material to keep with the original rockers instead of doing covers? Plus in my opinion, the covers just weren't that great either. Not dissin JSS, sorry!! Just my personal opinion.

Disclaimer: Eyes Of Love by JSS is one of the best melodic rockers I've ever heard. :)

LOL, favorite part of your whole post!

He's done a lot of different genres of music and has fans in all of the them. Some like the hard rockers more, some like the soul/r&B/groove more. :) So, IMO I think he tries to throw a little of everthing in for everybody. Besides 3 or 4 cover songs in a two hour set at least, isn't that many. Or maybe I just like the choices (Purple Rain, Crazy, Send Her My Love). And you're not going to find too many people that don't like the boogie medley, extremely fun part of his show. Personally I like that he switches it up in his shows.....like the variety.

The original version of "Crazy" by Seal is vocally better, but the guitar the way Neal played it was fucking awesome. 8)

I prefer JSS' harder edge version, also vocally. Seems to have more power behind it. Not too many songs I prefer to the original, but that is one of them. :)

'Trick is a little too sublime to be paired with Journey at this point.

But they're still making great music. "Dream the Night Away" is the best song they've ever done.

I always got him and Fred Savage confused. Fred's the cooler. "The Wonder Years" was like the best show ever. 8)

I actually like both quite a lot. Seal's just has a bit more sincerity to it whereas, like you said, Jeff's is much edgier. I'd like to hear Seal sing it with the Soul Sirkus music. That could be epic.

You are an assturd.

Journey is not doing 50 shows in the US dumbfuck. And off the top of my head, 500,000 people divided by 50 is 10,000 per show. I will suck off Andrew, to completeion on video, if they pull that off. They can't draw 10K per show on their own.

JSS isn't as well known, and I think it sucks he isn't. His band is pretty damned good. Howie can play like a motherfucker and Gary is three times as good as Valory. JSS will be fine.

You however, can go lick the feces off Properry's ass.

will go to the venue if thee are people going that I know and that I have not seen in a while however unless it is a double bill and I really want to see the other artist, will not be attending the show nor the set if it is a double bill. certainly will not be wasting time and money to go to another state or states to see them. already cost me waaayy too much and not only money.
