I have to babysit out of the house tomorrow so we
partook in the pleasure of each others company tonight.
Hubby's gifts from me included a nice rib dinner, candlelight bubble bath, I'm decorated
in heart day fashion and accessories, clean fragrant house, caring for the kids solo, unmentionables later.

My gifts from Hubby will come on the weekend when he lets me sleep in
and makes breakfast for all of us.
Also, I always consider it a gift that he earns a paycheck and provides for
the boys and I.

We haven't bought gifts for each other since before the birth of our children.

Valentine's Day is fun - all the kids giving each other cards at school, although the cards aren't as cute as they used to be...I collect the vintage Valentine cards. When the girls are older and can use scissors then we can make our own.
And, as for sappy stuff...I like it if it comes from the heart.

For the record, I really don't think there are necessarily rules. I'm just one of these guys whose thought processes are HEAVILY based in the art of common sense! As I said, I don't get buying your kids something for Valentine's Day (and for the record, I am a parent). I don't buy my mother in law a Mother's Day card, because she isn't my mother. I'm still trying to figure out why we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway

You're like the perfect woman, except for the fact that you smoke. :D

Thanks RedWingFan, kind thing to say.
I must tell you that I have more bad habits and faults than I do bed sheets and feather dusters.
