Matt, you should have put that money to better use dude, Chicago play London in July...I'm so going to that  My ipod's kinda full with Jeff's songs right now, so if I find space I might just purchase one or two of the new songs but I doubt it.

How much is a quid?

I think the exchange rate is pretty lousy for Americans at the moment...so it's around two dollars for every quid.

Is the legendary (cough) Jason Schiff still fronting the band, Styxman? :)

Show in Glasgow was cancelled - short notice, hope he comes back up North though. Too easy to stick to the easy option England.

The bands fronted by a few so they don't have a problem there.

Scheff's been a good replacement, pity Dwayne Bailey wasn't still there though!!

I'm getting it, and as soon as it's available for pre-order, I'm doing that! It's going to be a great record.

I hear you. Mine ended with generations and on 07/03/06.
Not to open a can of worms however, part of my continued issue with the band and their decison business, lineup, tour or what have you is that they never did this kind of thing back 8years ago or even in 01 or 05/
what is really too bad and unfortunate is that this kind of packaging with the new cd and rerecorded classics and
dvd was not done in 01 or even 05. I have no interest in it now and it furthers my confusion and issue with them and anger that this and all the stops were not pulled out over the past eight years.
I do not shop in that store anyway so I will not be making the trip there or live to see them.
I am done spending my money.

No, I will be one of those that will not be buying this set. It's not one that I have to have. If it was a set that had Steve Perry in it. Then yes, I'd be camping by the door. I don't need to hear re-makes of songs I love done by someone else.

No fucking way....I'll download it and make sure it gets placed on file sharing servers around the world. It's the least I could do for these fuckholes, given that they care so much about us 'fans'.....

If so, what has you sold/excited/hyped on the album... or are you like me and buy anything with the Journey logo on it?

If not... why?

Absolutely, I'm buyingt it! Not much of a WalMart shopper, but I'll be there with bells on and credit card in hand.

I am like you ProgRocker, I usually buy anything with a scarab on it; but, after the Vegas show, I'm really excited about this new Journey chapter..Arnel kicks arse and the guys are all smiles and having a blast.

agree with you 100% and would have done the same in 2 seconds if they had done this over the past 8 years.
without sp or sa singing these songs there is absolutely reason at this point to do this and no I won;t be buying it,.

Why dont you buy the set, to listen to the new album, and just not open the remade songs?

I am not remotely interested in the new cd either. I think they should have done this in 01 when arrival came out. I also think they should have taken 03,04, and 06 off like they did last year to concentrate on writing and cultivating the
songs and songwriting of ALL the band members instead of hurrying through a cd so they could go on tour again and not
only cut the new songs from the set, play a 3 hour set of 70' music, Hendrix covers etc and play the dirty dozen over and over. They toured nonstop over the past 8 years sometimes without a cd to back with no promotion, packages or
incentive of getting the music out there. Then blamed someone when it did not sell. lied about the 06 tour to save tix sales and trash former members in the interviews they gave. They played nonstop and marathon tours of the dirty dozen using the Journey name to sell tix and make money until they sidelined their singer. They used the last 2 singers to make money, and spent no real effort, inspiration or driving force to make or culivate sa's talents with the sole purpose of continuing the gravy train and make money. The second their singer becomes sidelined they cast him aside, hire someone off youtube and take a year off to make new music, something they could and should have done and would have taken the time to do had they truely cared what the fans thought or felt. To me it is like he was a hired hand and not part of things or the future and like a slap in the face to him and to the fans that came to care, admire and respect him as a singer and songwriter and performer and what he brought to the band. I am sorry, I cannot support that or this new package or cd/dvd partly for that reason. My journey ended 7/03/06.

Think I'll wait and see what everyone here has to say about the set. Don't need re-dos of music that's been out there for 20+ years and the dvd... well, I'm not really up for explaining to the li'l twisted why she is hearing Journey but not seeing her man (yeah, she's hung up on the man). While I love the band, I'm ever so tired of being beat about the head with all the "best thing since sliced bread" stuff that is being flung far and wide these days. None of the three put up on YT really grabbed me. So, it's a wait and see for me.
