I think you mean "God Bless America".

Yeah...I liked those guys too (so didn't their dentists) . Early this year they were trying to emulate those guys with all the suspensions they were getting. Jesse Boulerice is the ultimate hack.

When I played Juniors, a lot of guys had their front four top teeth surgically removed. That is, they basically wanted a denture, so when they played, nothing could be knocked out.

Damn you for showing that. 8)
I get a kick out of those skinny-looking goalies, Lanny's big lumberjack stache & that crackhead Fleury's celebration.

Good times! I remember them throwing a big celebration downtown at the Olympic plaza for the Flames guys. That first shot of Lanny is probably from that. I remember getting all teary, I'm such a girly sap about happy stuff like that.  I've seen Lanny a couple times over the years and he still has the stache, not quite as big and grey now.

Too cool - thanks for finding and posting that! I was sooo happy that night - we drove up & down McLeod Trail for hours with the convertible top down, standing up, waving the flags - great memory!
Notice the credits on that clip? - says song was sung by someone and Jann Arden (except they spelled it wrong). I probably knew that back then, but that was a long time ago (too long - go Flames!)

The San Jose Sharks are down right scary.

Regardless of their loss to Dallas tonight. The Flames should be afraid.........very afraid!

I have the "Good ol' Hockey Game" on CD for Wyatt, by the legendary Canadian, Stompin' Tom Connors.

It sucks this year because my team isn't in it. So saying that, I have to go with teams I least likely hate. I hate Montreal. I hate Boston. I hate Philadelphia. I hate Detroit. I hate Minnesota. I hate Dallas. I hate Anaheim with a passion. Pronger is a filthy dirty player. Yeah, I would take him on my team in a heartbeat, but he is a bad person, all the way through.

My pick to win it is San Jose.

I would love to see Pittsburgh and Washington go far, because they have the most exciting players in the league in Crosby and Ovechkin. OV has got to be MVP this year. Just too good.

Detroit is an amazing organization. 2 years they were voted best organization in all of sports. I can never bash the WINGS,and I hate them, but man, they had Yzerman, Shanny, Lidstrom, et al, and Bowman. A very proud group of guys, and they reloaded! Cue in Zettenburg, Daytsuk and Lidstrom(again), and they can make a run, BUT, I think San Jose is a little bit better. Should be good.

RWF, ever notice that this year, you actually see a few empty seats at the Joe? Is it the economy?

I know when the salary cap was agreed to. I was braced for some very lean years. Then pops up friggin Dan Cleary? Valeri Filpula? These guys I never heard of can play! Where'd they come from? Amazing.
Rockindeano wrote:RWF, ever notice that this year, you actually see a few empty seats at the Joe? Is it the economy?

The empty seats near the glass are the corporate types who have better things to do than go to a hockey game. Since the early '90's those seats have been filled by business suits. Not real fans. But the economy has definitly had an impact. I haven't been to a game in 4 years. Just can't see myself blowing that kind of money on a regular season game which is pretty much meaningless. Playoffs I'd consider going to for the right price.
