Get a thicker skin then. I'm no dummy and I say dumb things occasionally. Doesn't make me stupid.

McCain is not, IN MY OPINION, the right person for the job, as he has said he plans on continuing the war, which a good chunk of this nation is sick to death over.

You make it sound like McCain will be some kind of tyrant or megalomaniac as President. That's ridiculous. It doesn't matter if you're liberal or conservative. If you want to live under a real tyrannical leader, there are lots of countries out there for you to pick from.

I'm not saying you are stupid for your beliefs, nor your comments, so do not do that with mine. Period!

Of course I'm not stupid for my beliefs. Like I said, some things I say on occasion are stupid and I should be called on them.

Pretty much why I hardly post here anymore, as nearly every thread ends up in an extremely juvenile pissing match. Why can't people just let others have a fuckin' opinion... shit. Absolute Bully mentality around here.

Back to living my LIFE..thank you very much. fuckin a

I stand by what I said. I think it's ridiculous to compare McCain to some world leaders who are truly horrible people.

I may disagree with many of the policies McCain advocates, but I have no doubt that he believes his ideas will serve the country best.......and he deserves respect based on his service to our country. ( that doesnt mean you have to vote for him....but he doesnt deserve personal disrespect )

One of the great things about our country is you can disagree on issues, and you can voice your opinion without repercussion....there are a whole lot of places/countries where that could cost you your life. So, if you really want to vacate the country after the possible election of McCain, choose your destination carefully, and good luck.....

That's a lie.
She might have more experience than Obama, but she definately did not have more than other candidates.
Biden, Richardson, fuck even Mike Gravel, all had her easily trumped.

4ever4Steve wrote:Obama is realitively inexperienced in comparison. Promising everyone a chicken in every pot and a "pie in the sky' doesn't mean shit if you can't back it up with solid plans.
So, now, it is what it is. Obama cannot aford to lose 20 million voters by excluding Hillary from the ticket...just remember this was no 'slam dunk' on his part..it was damn close! ( and Hillary won all the "big" states).

In politics, a miss is as good as a mile.
Hillary changed positions on Michigan and Florida, didn't include the caucus states in her claims to the popular vote, heaped praise on the same propaganda outfits that derided her for years (such as Limbaugh and O'Reilly), helped swiftboat Obama, and the list goes on and on.
She has run a craven, venal campaign and I, for one, am glad to see her and her Al Caponian mad pursuit of power gone.
Let her go join Kirsten Powers and the roster of other fake Democrats over at Fox News.

Funny how all the Democrats who become employed by Fox News are now all considered "fake" or turncoats, similar to the way many liberal blacks feel about other blacks like Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, etc.

Turncoats? Naah.

However, the show should be titled:

I watch the show fairly often, even though I cannot really stand Hannity. Anyway, I think Bob Beckel would be a much better host than Colmes.

If you think I indiscriminately write them off just for having their checks endorsed by Roger Ailes and the Lord Voldemurdoch empire, you’re mistaken.
All the house Democrats on Fox News are obsequious little pinworms.
When O’Reilly or Hannity begins to lean in on her, Kristen Powers folds like a cheap suit.
Not only that, she is frequently uninformed and doesn't hesitate to throw fellow Dems under the bus.
The less said about Colmes, the better (tho his radio show isn’t half bad).
Beckle is OK, and they had Thom Hartmann on the other morning, which is a good start.

Unlike the right leaning herd, I actually watch the opposition and make up my own mind.
Try it sometime.

Can't locate where I first read this, but I recall reading that the show was initially developed around the pitch of "Hannity and a yet-to-be-decided NY liberal."
Most educated Conservatives I know feel dumber for having watched Hannity.
Whatever he is, it's not Conservative...it's something far more insidious, a new breed of crypto-facist.

I have never come here to carry out the bidding of political overlords the same way you have brainlessly picked up the sword for Beck– even when all evidence points to the contrary.
For example, you only made an issue out of this non-issue after Beck raised a fuss in both his newsletter and TV show.

It must feel nice to deploy so many battalions of talking-point armed footsoliders at one’s disposal.

I get the feeling you're going by the right wing caricatures of who Al or Randy are, or what it is they say.
Hannity is pure Goebbels trash.
Randi may occassionally go beyond the pale, but its not her permanent place of residence like Hannity, Coulter, Savage etc.

You still can't explain how Beck was "mis-quoted" when MediaMatters provided the full audio and video - including comments that preceeded his remark.
Most revealing, Beck didn't feel the need to tell his audience that, either.
So obviously you were just taking him on his solemn word – which is about as worthless as tits on a boar (to quote Limpdick).
Even the most partisan stooge with only a tepid dedication to the truth could’ve at least checked out the website and made up his own mind.

I see the Senate Select Intelligence Committee released the final two sections of its pre-war intelligence report yesterday and found that “the Administration made significant claims that were not supported by the intelligence.”
Think such an occasion calls for another Beck gloatfest?

You maintained that MediaMatters somehow deceived its audience by not mentioning the fact that Beck was joking.
Unfortunately such an argument is rendered completely moot when it comes to a media watchdog site where the full audio and video is allowed to speak for itself.
Of course, as is the case with all McCarthyite demagogues, it’s their own toxic words that lead to their downfall - which is what makes MM so explosively lethal.

conversationpc wrote:Anyway, if you can't understand simple comedy, facial expressions, and body language, then it's not worth wasting my time to discuss it any further. Thanks.

Uh-huh.
Just like other kneeslappers such as the time Beck described how we would murder Michael Moore, or asked US Weekly's Dina Sansing to get naked with him, or reveled in the fate of the Southern California wildfire victims, right?
Beck, like Hannity when called to the carpet for such broadcasting recklessness, quickly straddles back to his default position of either "I'm simply an entertainer" or "I was joking."
How convenient.

Every night it’s a new trumped up moral outrage. Doesn't matter if it's Beck, Savage, Limbaugh, Hannity etc.
Oh sure, Beck, in his attempt to be seen as a post-partisan truthteller, has been ranting about government spending out-of-control, but he hardly ever mentions the 3 trillion dollar war in Iraq (a conservative figure).
Maybe come Monday Beck can go on another rant about Edward’s haircut as he signs a 3 million dollar book deal atop of his recently signed 50 million dollar radio contract. But don’t forget, like O’Reilly, he’s looking out for you.

You’ve confused love of country for blind acceptance of U.S. foreign policy.
Supporting this illegal war in any form (millitarily, rhetorically, or otherwise) is what's unpatriotic.

No thanks.
I model myself after Cheney, Ashcroft, Rove, Feith etc.
Y’know, all the multiple deferment chickenhawks and sons of privilege who masterminded this clusterfuck?
Not so much as another single drop of innocent American blood needs to hit the sands of Mesopotamia.
Cut off the funding, bring the troops home, and and pass a resolution in which the U.S. apologizes for destabilizing the region.

The McCarthyites in this case are Media "Truth Doesn't" Matters and Keith "Rip-n-Read" Olbermann. The audio and video clearly show Glenn joking about this issue. Glenn joked about how Rip-n-Read and MM would take it seriously far before they ever aired it or put it on their web site. You can continue to lie about this little episode but any intelligent person can watch that video for themselves and determine its context for themselves.

And the audio and video are there for the world to see thanks to MediaMatters. If he's clearly joking, what's the big stink about?

It was a dumb question and underpinned with innuendo that is actually taken very seriously by some on the right. Even some people on this forum have made the antichrist claim. The pretext of humor doesn't absolve him of his stupidity.

conversationpc wrote:

Yep, thanks to sites like MediaMatters. I encourage everyone to watch it.
Beck, to his limited credit, had to apologise on air last week for unfairly playing Bill Clinton out of context cocerning global warming.
It's too bad his audience isn't aware that 99% of Beck's material suffers from this same problem.

Last night, in a typical display of feigned pulpit-pounding demagoguery, he played a snippet of Pelosi talking about Iran's involvement in Iraq, and made it seem that she values Iran over the American troops.

I suggest you re-read Kerry's speech on the senate floor on the war resolution.
While ultimately a "yes" vote, it was loaded with the very concerns that have all now come to pass.
War was a last resort, and was to be endeavored only as a broad multilateral effort.

"Let me be clear, the vote I will give to the President is for one reason and one reason only: To disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, if we cannot accomplish that objective through new, tough weapons inspections in joint concert with our allies."

Of course, as Hans Blix, the chief weapons inspector reported, the inspectors were pulled out prematurely amidst reports of finding scant nothing on the ground.

Good for Beck. At least he isn't being a hypocrite about his money like "Two Americas" Edwards.

Yea, because being rich and actually giving a damn about the forgotten man are mutually exclusive.
