Bobby, while I understand your dilemma, saying "that's so gay" is nothing like calling a black person the "n" word. There's a whole different history in all of that. Black people suffered something that none of us will ever be able to understand. A "gay" person decides to embark on an alternate lifestyle, and with that comes ignorance and intolerance. Black people didn't decide anything, they were actually forced into slavery, and that's where the "n" word was born and used as a demeaning, debasing & humiliating insult.

To compare the two as the same is as ignorant as the shit stevew2 spews. I've been guilty of the same, however. If I've offended you, I apologize.

I appreciate that, but just have one disagreement. I didn't choose to be gay. I was born that way. I don't see how that is forcing you to do anything. I'm not for a federal amendment to the Constitution against gay marriage, as I believe this is an issue for the individual states to decide. However, if it comes up for vote for the Indiana constitution, I would vote for it.

That being said, I don't believe it's right for hospitals to deny visitation rights to homosexual partners, for instance. That just doesn't make sense to me.

You are absolutely right Michigan Girl and I've grown a thick skin, but at my age, I just turned 42, I'll never hide who I am again, and I don't post on these forums racial, ethnic, or sexual slurs, so I guess I was hoping for a place to talk about one of my favorite bands without having to see words like "faggot" and every other insult people like to toss around.
