Oh c'mon now, suggesting that someone is gay is no comparison to calling a black person the N word. That is, unless you are not secure in your manhood.
Discrimination is discrimination and unless it's happened to you, you honestly can't know what it feels like. I am gay, so saying "faggot" and "that's so gay" is exactly like saying the N-word to a Black person.
It's not cool to come here and see those epithets. I don't think it's funny, and if a person's vocabulary is so shitty they can't think of anything else, maybe they need to buy a thesaurus.
I know a lot of you don't really realize how hurtful it is, but at least you could try to understand.
And speaking of "manhood" if you need to belittle someone else to be "secure" in your manhood, you're neither secure or a man. You're simply a boy who has never grown up.
(you, your and you're are plural, not trying to single anyone out)
Bobby, while I understand your dilemma, saying "that's so gay" is nothing like calling a black person the "n" word. There's a whole different history in all of that. Black people suffered something that none of us will ever be able to understand. A "gay" person decides to embark on an alternate lifestyle, and with that comes ignorance and intolerance. Black people didn't decide anything, they were actually forced into slavery, and that's where the "n" word was born and used as a demeaning, debasing & humiliating insult.
To compare the two as the same is as ignorant as the shit stevew2 spews. I've been guilty of the same, however. If I've offended you, I apologize.
I appreciate that, but just have one disagreement. I didn't choose to be gay. I was born that way. I have black friends, I have family that are black, I know how horrible the N-word is and know that when someone spits at you and curses at you and says "faggot" through clenched teeth and clenched fists, it's just as bad as the N-word. Again though I appreciate your understanding.
