As for resolutions/goals ...

Carpe diem x 365 = carpe annum ... work hard, play equally hard; choose happiness, fully participate in life as it comes around, seek new experiences, make new friends, enjoy new music; make sure the people I love know that I do; avoid judgment, Schutt, and drama as much as possible ...

I really admire your energy and how you're always off to your next experience. It seems you've always just come back from another great concert. :D

Thanks, Jana; that's really a sweet thing to say. Spent lots of years as pretty much a drudge and occassionally an effed-up mess; making up for it as fast as I can. :D

On the can in my Av it also says Carpe diem. Suck the marrow out of life, live it to the fullest. Always a good montra. :D

That's the Trans Siberian Orchestra winter tour program I'm holding (Deb and I were waiting in the meet 'n greet line at the Houston show). Looks like the cover art is a painting of a carrousel in winter. Very cool program; totally awesome show.

Just one day at a time, good with the bad... I know I'm gonna fluff up, but I think the greatest thing I've learned so far is that there is no mess that can't be cleaned up. Thank you for saying that, Linda! I hope 2009 brings plenty more fun times together, and sooner rather than later! :D

I think we are blessed to have such inspirational and strong women on this site. I have to say it is a joy to get to know so many of you. Rhi, DrFU, MG, and Ari your all great ladies, and there are some more, but just wanted to tell you all that. I will tell you if I am having a crummy day, I can get on here, and you make me laugh, even when I know it might not be all sunshine and roses in your lives today. You make coming on here worthwhile! :D

not really a resolution maker. i do want to buy a house and give wyatt a real home to grow up in. my goals are pretty much centered around wyatt. professionally i'll probably seek to add another degree to the resume, a doctorate or admin credential, maybe board certified.

happy new year to all of you. may 2009 bring good health and much happiness to all. and of course a strong economy, jobs, health care, and an end to the iraq occupation, to name a few things ;)

Your heart is true. You're a pal AND a confidant. 8) Because we had a dream... we'd go traveling together. Spread a little loving and we'd keep movin' on. Then we'd have a yabba dabba doo time... a dabba doo time. 8)

Whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, evenin' TV? When you're lost out there and you're all alone, a light is waiting to carry you home, everywhere you look. You miss your old familiar friends, well they're just waiting around the bend, everywhere you look!

When I wake up in the morning and the alarm gives out a warning I don't think I ever make it on time. By the time I grab my books and I give myself a look I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by! It's alright 'coz I'm saved by the bell.

Oh, and so no one told you life was going to be this way. Your job's a joke, you're broke, you're love life's DOA. It's like you're always stuck in second gear. Well, it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year. But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour. I'll be there for you, like I've been there before. I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.

Wow, really? Even the good ones??

Yeah, even the good ones. The past few years has done nothing but sour my taste for this band in any incarnation...I used to listen to great tracks like escape, SIL, WOM, etc and get all sentimental/excited/whatever....but now I just listen to them and realize that it's all been pissed on by Neal, Friga and whatever singer they currently have desecrating the music.

Sorry to be such a fucking downer...I just don't get the same love from these songs as I used to. I'd rather not listen to this shit and get the bile stirred up. 2009 might be a good year to take a break...and hopefully, when I return to it...there wont be another fucking episode of disrespect pissed on this band's legacy. I'm not holding my breath, however...

Lula's got the right idea however...wishing for things beyond journey and/or AOR music is where it's at. I pray 2009 will bring fiscal responsibility to the US (I'm not hopeful), peace to the world (and death to those that intend to upset peace), and responsibility thrust on everyone's actions...All 3 are rather far fetched, but New Years Eve is a time to consider the impossible and dream of it's possibility.

Happy New Year to everyone out in MR.com land....

Your call, that sounds kind of silly to me though. I know of a lot of whack jobs and assholes that I wouldn't want to be around for two minutes (and I have no basis to judge Neal/Jon on at all, so not implicating them) that I fuckin love listening to.

Shit, I still listen to The Who even though every time they play a gig with Daltrey's croaked out voice (within the last few years) they are "desecrating the music" much more than Augeri, JSS, or Arnel could do in their worst nightmares...

Nothing to do with how they execute the music....but The Who is a great example. If daltrey died tomorrow and townsend replaced him with some 20 year old youtube discovery from Uganda, would it still be The Who? How much bullshit from a band are you willing to accept before you say to yourself 'you know, this just isn't right anymore'.

I've gotten to that point. You clearly haven't! Enjoy those expertly written Friga lyrics...I'll pass!

Dude, Rome wasn't built in a day. You clearly have to do 2 before you do 4. Your chances of 2 increase with doing 1. You chances of 2 increase even more with 3....Sounds like 1 and 3 should be priorities and you should give an emphatic 'fuck you' to anyone that demands you do 2 and 4 first! ;)

Speaking from experience, 5 falls into place once you line up 1-4...

Dear Frankenfuter... I understand things w/ Journey may be different for you personally. But that sounds like you're way too emotionally invested in what a group of lugnuts do with their jobs. It's just a band. I don't care what they do. They have no bearing on my well-being and my life. If they were to magically disappear today I wouldn't care. The parties and shows would go on with someone else. I've got these songs that I play that they made, you see. I don't listen to them a lot... but they're there when I want them. They could go through 20 more personnel changes today and I wouldn't care. I think what I'm trying to say is, don't take it so seriously.

I dont take it seriously. I don't know why you think so? I just don't give a fuck. The music doesn't do it for me anymore...that's all I'm saying. Really. If I took it seriously, I'd be fucking pasting up pictures of Neal Schon on the crapper or something...

..oh wait!

No, seriously, Rhi...I just dont care enough. I find it odd that certainly people here need to get their panties in a bunch when I come out and elaborate...but frankly, I just don't enjoy the music enough to care. I care more about connecting with certain peeps here...which is why I'm still around.

I know what you mean. I don't enjoy it enough to flip out about it. I was enjoying it enough to flip out before they went karaoke style, and then to flip out about them going karaoke style... LOL!

I gotcha, just so the reason the songs don't tickle your taint anymore isn't because you're letting the merry-go-round of band theatrics sour your taste for music you loved. Like a bad break-up, something you loved just reminds you of them so you let it go to avoid thinking about it. In the end, the music doesn't change... we do. A routine gut check there, tis all. :D

Get those pictures of the Bob Ross/Jack Nicholson love-spawn off your shitter wall. :D
