There sure aren't any clips of it anywhere if it ever was.

Stevew2 is the only one that said he has seen it on the ROR tour (Baltimore or DC) ... none of the many ROR boots I have has that song ... still trying to find the one that Stevew2 went to. SA-era fans said Deen has sung that song in concert. And, Jeremey has sung that song in Frontiers concerts.

Fond as I am of Stevie-Woo, what are the odds he heard it on the radio on the way into the concert, or even on the way out, or even the next morning before the hangover cleared, and now remembers it as being played?

You know I luvs ya, Steve

I'll let SW2 answer for himself, lol. Can't find a clip of Deen singing this song ... but sure he has. Here's Jeremey singing the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EgS2bNkmA0

I would kill to hear SP sing this or Happy to Give. Like Froy said, doesn't seem Journey played either song on their last (w/ SP) tour  .

That's probably 10 people so far, I've seen say that about you, didn't Andrew have words with you at some point?. At any rate I have no problem with you, though! it is very common to be "Confident & Arrogant" at the same time. And I always thought confident people didn't have to debate or get into arguments, well... they simply don't need to ;)

Is that you Vladan in your av?

I agree with what you said. You don't have to stand up and yell over and over again, I'm right to be right. If your right let the truth set you free. Just smile patiently for it to be revealed and when you are vindicated by the truth, let others give your accolades. :D

They came blasting out on stage with "Only the Young". I remember Wheel in the sky because Randy, Neal, and John did a kind of Dance with their guitars. Be good to yourself, Girl can't help it, Lovin touchin, squeezin, Gee let me think a while. I bet I can remember most of the songs they played. I do remember wishing Perry had done Happy to Give. :D

Si senorita.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kE5uGxfAZuU

Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from the gardener who
Heard it from his barber Perry’s comin’ around.

They say he’s got some new songs
After we’ve been waiting too long
They're spreading rumors and it's bringin' us down

But we know the neighborhood
And talk is cheap when the story is good
And the rumors grow bigger on down the line

But we gotta lock the door, splash
Because we heard it all before, splash
It might be true but keep this in mind

CHORUS:
You got the wrong approach, baby
You really should have phrased it “maybe”
And we just will not play your game
We can’t believe it, not for a minute
Until it comes from Perry, your weight will just not carry.

You're thinking up your next lines
You’re trying to plant a grapevine
You say it’s coming out, but you won't say when

We all hope it’s coming
Songs as good as “Keep on Running”
But we’re not about to try and hold our breath.

You got the wrong approach, baby
You really should have phrased it “maybe”
And we just will not play this game
We can’t believe it, not for a minute
Until it comes from Perry, your weight will just not carry.

I have 21 ROR bootlegs. I know of no more in existance, although some more may surface at some stage. I have never heard WCTNGOF performed by the band on that tour.
Deen has NEVER sang the song live either.

Yep for a fact.
Look at the Japan video backstage he is drunk out of his mind
And in St Louie when I saw them he grabbed his nose sniffed and said ahhhhhh my drugs are finally kicking in.
Im sure he was not talking about afrin.

The songs were sped up as has been discussed here before, but Randy Jackson most certainly doesn't "suck". He's one of the most respected producer/musicians in the industry.

whatever Ross should have been there period

Mike Baird was a hugely respected studio drummer and was very in demand in the 80's.
He definetely doesn't suck.

The worst drummer I have ever seen
Trash

I get that you didn't appreciate that tour, but saying they sucked is flat out WRONG.

It was the worst JRNY tour and I saw them all with Perry

I saw the one in Memphis and I never saw anything like you are saying. The show was great, and Steve was quite sober.[/quote]

There is a big difference between drinking too much after a concert (I saw the interview too) and being wasted through an entire tour. One joke about drugs does not constitute proof that someone is a cocaine user - that is just ridiculous. A couple of people here have suggested SP had a cocaine habit during the ROR tour, but Herbie was on that tour with the band. He has thrown every criticism in the book at Steve Perry and has mentioned both Neal and Ross's past cocaine use in interviews - if he had that to throw at SP, don't you think he would have? If Herbie has never made that accusation, then I doubt there is any credibility to it.

Steve is in AA to this very day
One of the reasons he quit was because of D and A
So what
Every rock star in the 80s did coke
Neal was ther also

Use your head man
1986 was cocaines biggest time
I think that was when Belushi went down
Heck I did it in 86 so what
If your still doing it today you have a problem
Steve Perry is not drinking or doing drugs today and that all that matters

You can look at many of those ROR videos and Steve Perry's eyes were very strange. There's no way that he wasn't high on something. Just sayin . . . (who knows, maybe Nyquil. )

It could be residual affects from what you have consumed but you also could have some mild form of dyslexia which has never been recognized. Thats what I've thought at times when you've posted in the daytime..at night it compounds with drinking. No shame in maybe being a little dyslexic if thats the case...a number of people have it....even some very successful people. You may just see some letters shifted around sometimes. It doesn't speak towards one's intelligence at all.
Well...it may be that or you just do the many misspellings intentionally for laughs.

It wasn't a 'drug dealer'... it was his cousin, or some kind of relative (according to Herbie, that is... I have no facts on this other than this is what Herbie said happened....). He swiped the kid's pot... welcome to the 70s. I'd hardly call it drug-dealing.

I think I remember them singing the song at Memphis. Glass Tiger was not there, and Journey did a larger set than usual. They did quite a few songs from ROR. Happy to Give was not one of them, because I wanted to hear that one as I said earlier.

I really can't see how the guy could pull of a song like WCTNGOF live. Even though most of Raised on Radio is poppish crap - he did a lot of good vocal performances. Like Suzanne and ICHBY, wich is a damn good song. Perry's voice and the absence of Ross Valory is the only thing making the record worth listening to really.

Almost my exact thoughts verbatim. Musically, I find ROR to be dreadful. Perry clearly grabbed the spotlight with both hands and fixated it upon himself, allowing Neal and Jon few moments to truly shine. Fortunately, the man delivered on the vocals and I find it to be Perry's finest vocal album, which saves it from being forgotten altogether. From a musical standpoint, I believe Jackson was an improvement over Randy, but it's not as though Journey survived on bass playing heroics. Smith's departure is even more inexcusable.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I think Evolution is Perry's best, and that's solely based upon Sweet and Simple. But you're pretty much spot on man. Valory should be fired a long time ago. I'm pretty sure he's in the band still, cause Neal knows he'll loose a lot of fans when they can't get to experience "Ross Valory and his amazing rubber face" live. The percussions in RoR could anyone pull off. I mean; Journey would do better picking up a random trannie and hire her for a few nights, telling her: "ok honeybunny. Just take these to sticks and pound this drum every sec", and there you basicly have RoR's drumming. But hey, it's all good
