This was the only show I had any interest in following as it was for charity. I was hoping they'd have a full house, though with no new album and a flat economy, unless you're U2, sellouts may be the exception rather than the norm this year.
Since it's a charity event I thought they would play something inspiring like "What it takes to win" but the Dirty dozen seems to be back yet again judging by Dr. Fu's setlist, though seeing as this show was more for the people who volunteered their time to the cause, it's all good I suppose.
At least they are still playing 4 from Rev. But yeah, it's kinda sad when I see a much wider variety of songs at a Frontiers show than I ever will at a Journey show stateside.
Five, actually.
Ah, skipped right over Where Did I Lose Your Love. Anyway, point still stands: Nice to see them remembering they put out an album a year ago (since they seem to forget about these kinda things in the new millennium within a year or so). But still, throw us some TBF/Arrival bones here and there at the very least...
Yeah, I was going to say they did five new songs. But I agree, take off Be Good To Yourself and a couple more like that and throw in some other great songs they haven't played recently or ever. There's no reason not to. Journey has a catalogue of fantastic songs. Forget hardcore fans who want a better changeup, not even the casual fans are pining for songs like BGTY or WITS to be played every single year and would love to hear other songs instead.
