As opposed to the eloquent ‘stammering wino’ cadence of George W., who practically advertised his dangerous incompetence to the world like a flashing neon Live Nude Girls sign.
And the GOP base, despite all their talk of 'won’t get fooled again’, seems none the wiser.
What else is Sarah Palin, if not another folksy Bush/globalist cipher in 4 inch otter skin heels?

Aside from O’s Wall Street minted financial team (which continues down the same path that got us in this mess), I have no problems with Obama.
Contrary to the Mao Zedong caricature that gets thrown around, his healthcare reform plan didn’t even include a public option.
60 years to the day Truman called for universal coverage, even with Democratic majorities in both houses, the party simply cannot deliver.
The toothless financial overhaul reform package that was revealed this week expands the power of the Fed (bad idea), and all but guarantees another Depression in the future.
Maybe in that time, a real change agent will come onto the scene ready to match words with radical ass punting.
Until then, celebrate the drips and drabs of change.

Air force recieve the best care.........they received a great deal more luxuries than many of the military branches. Civilian doctors did not want to touch tricare insurance with a ten foot pole. Many rejected it outright.

But I don't like nor trust the Federal Gov. to do anything right. What program have they not screwed up?

I do understand there are people on Medicaid who DO truly work hard. And I'm not meaning the things I pointed out to be taken as a slam to people who are or have ever been on it. I've just seen the ABUSE of it over the years get completely out of control, and the county I work in it is now MUCH easier for the non-working people to get it than it is for the hard workers who make low incomes, it's the fact they DO work that makes Medicaid say "Nope!", and it's CRAP. And it seems to get worse and worse each year. Medicaid is a GOOD program for the people who do TRULY need it. But here, the majority who get it are not in that group, unfortunately.

And I'm sorry Tricare turned out like that for you, but I really don't see where this becomes and Air Force had more luxury thing I don't know what in the world you are even talking about. Unless it's an officer thing, in which case, my father was enlisted for 25 years, not an officer, so I wouldn't know.

Oh and my mother's care was all received at the hospitals here that are not military, there are no military medical facilities or doctors here, and Tricare covered most of her care.

Well I had no idea, learn something new every day. The "luxuries" I saw were the officers getting MUCH better and bigger housing than enlisted, on the base golf courses, crap like that. Had no idea about the rest.

All I know is Tricare did not "suck" when my mother was being treated for cancer, and since it was all at NON military facilities here, I doubt she was covered just because he was in the Air Force.

Officers have always had better quarters than enlisted. I have no beef with that, as they've earned it. Rank has it's priveledges. I just have a beef with one branch as a whole being treated better than the others. Don't see how they can justify it!

You cannot trust what he says, but rather watch what he is doing. There are 46 million uninsured, with only 18 million needing more help. Lets help them. There are people choosing not to buy health insurance that can afford it - it is their choice. I was one for a few years. I was in my early 20's and didn't own anything and felt healthy and took the money that I saved from not getting health insurance and tossed it into my retirement. No point at that time to spend $250/month on it, when the consequences were zilch. I have an Uncle who makes 6 figures who doesn't have any health insurance and never has and he is in his mid 50's. He doesn't have a lot of stuff in his name so I don't think its a real big risk. Additionally, I switched to a lower premium high co-pay plan and its worked out great, despite myself and family needing 4 surgeries in the last 6 years (at $500 a pop out of pocket per night). Many of us are quite frankly over-insured up-front and would do our employers a favor and take on more co-pays to lessen their burden.

The GAO found that 94% of major corporations pay less than 5% of their income in taxes.
That was back in 2004.
More recently, in 2008, the GAO found that two-thirds of US companies doing business in this country paid no federal income taxes from 1998 to 2005.

If it's not available for all to use it, then one does not exist. What we have today is an health insurance that is enjoyed by a select people, not all.

Of course regulations are required and systems need to be in place to control fraud. However the extent of those systems is what I object to. As far as reducing paperwork what a fucking joke. Have you ever heard of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980. So what's Obama's new idea! The government was supposed to have already reduced paperwork. They've had 29 years. How long does it take?

Obama wants a paperless system, one with computerized connectivity, electronic records and prescriptions, etc.

I know more about the health care systems in this country than you'll ever know. It's my life's work. What's your's running your mouth on the MR forum?

I don't claim to know more than you about health insurance, but I know I'm at least smart enough to know this system that you have been a part doesn't work.

I think it goes back to the beginning of the entire process. When you want to join the military, you have to take a written test. How you score on the test determines what branch your eligible to join. If you have waivers such as past drug use, criminal record, etc, points are deducted from the person taking the test. This all may have changed since I went in over 20 years ago mind you. So basically, the highest scores went to the airforce. Each branch has it's own medical specialists and whatnot. So now you can sort of get an idea why the airforce has the top notch facilities over the rest.

As for the Health Care deal.........prepare to pay.......Deano have you ever had Gov run health care? I have and it is shameful what they have done for our vets. Not to mention I have had them nearly kill me, and almost let my daughter bleed to death. To this day my back is messed up because they did not give me proper care. Military families sometimes have to wait 4-8 hours in emergency rooms for serious emergencies. I saw a boy who's hand was mangled and broken and they made him wait for 3 hours! It sounds good on paper. But it will be costly, and no guarantee it won't be badly run. So I am not so fond of Gov health care.

300 million+ people.....7K average cost per person (very low number)... = 2.1 trillion per year.
