Oh sorry I thought Neal Schon and Jon Cain wrote most of those Perry songs... my mistake...

Do you have to ask an obviously disgrutled Perry loon what his point is? I'm telling you, there are people out here who cannot handle Journey in any post Perry incarnation. Please forgive them for they know not what they miss. 8)

Your remark way off base. I'm not a loon by any stretch. I loved Augeri, and loved JSS.

I paid good money to see the Pineda led incarnation of Journey.

The little fella has a great voice, but the whole show seemed like American Idol. Schon needs to lay off the botox, as well. He is as creepy looking as Jacko at this point.

Yep but times change. Even if Perry was still with the band it would'nt be the same as the 80's. The band is still going, still writing new music and still performing. Have a glass of wine and relax

Hey, I like JSS too, but not with Journey? He was not a good fit for Journey and I will never understand why a handful of people prefer him with Journey over Pineda. He sounds less Journey than any one lead singer to date. American Idol? I can see why some would think that looking at the earliest concerts from when AP was first hired, but he's grown to be a much better entertainer than that, especially this year. Even the metal heads liked him. If you want creepy, look at Jagger or Plant these days. Neal ain't that bad, c'mon now! :D

I think its safe to say I know what I am missing, after having suffered through the first few tracks of the "new" material on "Revelation". It reminded me of the "Temptations" concert that my aunt went to in 1996.............there were five guys on stage..........and only ONE of them was an original Temptation. OH............and don't get me started on the "Supremes". Did you know their still doing concert dates? Uh-huh..............................yeah.

Peace.

I guess it's a matter of taste. There's really only one song on Revelation that I like - actually it's one I like a lot and will usually play on repeat a few times when iPod pulls it into the shuffle... but the rest of the album just doesn't do anything for me. It's nothing against Arnel, or the band, and my reason for disliking the album has nothing to do with SP not being in the band, as suggested above... I happen to enjoy Arrival very much. I'm not basing my like or dislike on who the signer is (or isn't, for that matter).

I'm just not into the material on either Generations or Revelation. Generations is just  yikes (seriously? "mobile" ?) and Revelation is sappy and boring, except for the one track that I like. It's just not my thing and I'm not as bowled over by Arnel as the current journey die hards and newfound pinheads, or whatever they're called. Doesn't mean I don't think he's a decent singer or that they put on a decent show. But I think a lot of people are decent singers even though I don't go loopy over their records.

I think the only reason people would be missing anything by not attending a Journey concert is if that's the only concert they would have gone to all year. Most people here go to quite a few concerts, I can't imagine someone letting their music experience revolve around just one band. Look at the posts here on this site. While we all share a love of music, one particular artist isn't the priority with many of us, anyway. As has been said before, some of Journey's music may be the common bond in this forum but for most people here, it's not the end all of enjoying this place, just the conduit that has brought us together.

And if it wasnt for JC and NS then Perry would have nothing to make famous.

We could go round all day.

JC and NS have the right to play songs they created with SP. Just like Perry did in 1994

Of course they do. Sony of all people would agree with you. When Journey played DSB at the Super Bowl Beer garden party, Sony's version of the song spiked on Itunes, just as it did during Glee and to a greater extent, The Sopranos. I actually heard that song this morning on the radio. When it got to almost the Last Stop, the radio went quiet. I thought the station went dead but then I heard the girl DJ giving the co-host guy shit while he was explaining to her he was trying to replicate the ending of the Sopranos. Sometimes it's like Perry never left the band and the group just stopped after 1986, at least on the radio here in So Cal.

Im going to agree with DC just this once. I would love to hear a Journey concert minus all the Perry material. There are more than enough great songs from Arrival thru Revelation that Ive never heard in concert.

You Brits would appreciate it as you guys seemed like huge supporters of Augeri, but that won't fly here in the states. Even the Pinheads would be crying because in their world, Journey didn't exist before 2007 and Arnel originated all those hits like DSB OA, Faithfully, ect.
Stateside Wiggler fans would probably be able to score some great seats though, even if the usual 1,000 or so Pinheads show up.

You might be right, because alot of Brits hav'nt even heard of Journey, so most of the people who go to the concerts are pretty big fans of the band.

Oh sorry I thought Neal Schon and Jon Cain wrote most of those Perry songs... my mistake...

They did.................but did THEY make them famous?

I don't think so.

And if it wasnt for JC and NS then Perry would have nothing to make famous.

We could go round all day.

JC and NS have the right to play songs they created with SP. Just like Perry did in 1994

Im going to agree with DC just this once. I would love to hear a Journey concert minus all the Perry material. There are more than enough great songs from Arrival thru Revelation that Ive never heard in concert.

Hey so would I! Just to prove that there are so many great songs after perry

Y'all sure knew who the hell Michael Jackson was though. I'm still amazed about all those O2 shows selling out.

Journey's problem is MTV made them who they became. All us yanks had it burned into our brain the images of Neal with his fro, Perry with his leopard print and Cain with his keytar and painter's smock. When we think of Journey, those are the three players we see (along with that horrendous Separate Ways video). I had no Idea who was in the Moody Blues or Yes or any other group that didn't create a shitload of videos for MTV. They were all faceless bands, and I would never even know if the guy singing was the original or a replacement. With Journey, Styx, Def Leppard and especially Genesis, MTV burned it into your skull who they were. I think the reason Sammy Hagar was embraced easily enough by VH fans was because of our familiarity with him from his videos. We already knew who he was and that he rocked.

Be Good to Yourself - I don't buy that song from anyone else other than Perry......it was his anthem

Open Arms - it's just over played IMO

LTS - another one that I would want to see Perry sing again....but enough already....it's had it's day in the sun

Mother Father......I love Deen and his version but......you know what I am going to say anyway. :) :) :)

and this is a question....

how many songs off Arrival do they do now??? I have not seen many you tubes of songs from that CD...there are some good songs there...or are they only sticking to the older stuff wtih Perry and the new stuff? and if so why?

Oh yeah, Almost forgot! That's his Kiss My A@# to his Band Mates and Fans!

I think you're signature is inaccurate. According to the Grammy website, John Mayer won the 2009 award for best male vocalist

Well, that just goes to show how lame the Grammy voters are. John Mayer couldn't carry Arnels jock. Although, he
does play at decent blues guitar. :)
