There is nothing I want to see LESS than Journey on Oprah. I can see it now--
Journey will be playing Open Arms and the camera will pan to Oprah in the front row with her best friend, lacky or whatever , and they'll both be singing. and swaying. Then the "Soccer Mom Cam" will go through the audience while running a Haagen Das ticker across the bottom of the screen...
Opie will get more camera time than Journey.
I can't believe the fans would want to see this. I guess Journey's gotta do what they gotta do to sell stuff and I get it. Their female fans are now Oprah's demo, but .... ugh.
The only way this could be cool is if it was a feature on Arnel's charity stuff. Otherwise, I just can't see the point and it seems that it will just make them look really watered down. I remember Bon Jovi on there and other "rock" bands and they just came off as so white.
I just can't see Opie bein a Journey fan.

I don't see the problem. After all, Journey and Oprah basically have the same audience demo. Why wouldn't Journey take advantage of a ready made captive audience? What, you're worried about Journey losing its "cool" factor? Even in it's heyday Journey was never cool. Whatever you may think about those "soccer moms" you must bear in mind two things: a) the soccer moms of today were once the bouncy, perky little 19-20 year olds flashing their boobage at Journey concerts for the world to see back in the day, and b) women in that age cohort have a great deal of disposable income (economic down-turn notwithstanding).
Why is it hard to see Oprah being a Journey fan? You doubt the wide-spread appeal of Journey?
