Exactly. Even if they had parted on the best of terms, it would be difficult to go back. There's no guarantee they would ever be able to re-capture the magic from their previous heyday. And let's face it, everybody is a little older and a little crankier now. I just don't want to imagine a bunch of "grumpy old men" in a room together mean-mugging each other and giving each other the stink-eye while their trying to write, rehearse and record beautiful music.

You'd be very surprised what a large sum of money will do for the stink-eye. A very very large sum lol

Oh, no. I fully understand the persuasive nature of the green-back. The problem is, I don't think either party needs it THAT badly. Journey is doing well enough with Arnel (and without Perry's diva/drama headaches) and Perry's doing whatever it is he's doing and living nicely off the work he's already done.

Journey is in the top 10 for most songs played on Contemporary and Classic rock stations. Even at a dollar a pop, that's still a lot of money, never mind the the other places the music finds itself a part of or continuous album sales with their Greatest Hits and classic records. Neil, Steve and Jon at least are good to go. Arnel, Deen and Ross need to keep working a little longer probably.

Nostrildamus still possesses the ability to walk it at any time and reclaim his old job. He should be able to pull off a 25 show, major stadium summer tour, and walk away from this thing with some grace and dignity. Something he neglected to do last time.

You're such a tease SJ! My brain goes into a spin every time I think about the possibility.

In fact, last night I had a dream that I was watching a DVD of Journey live in concert circa 1996. Perry was belting it out like only he can...it was a very vivid dream. And then I had to wake up.

Geez, that was part of the deal last time. Maybe he'll insist on bringing Herbie back. What a crazy circus Journey has become.

I truly don't think the riff is really as bad between Schon and Perry as everyone thinks. I think they could get back onstage together tomorrow and it would be magic. It probably won't happen, but if it did all they would remember would be the good times. I mean, c'mon - look what they did together. A few disagreements over touring cannot erase that.

Yea I believe the wounds are still pretty deep and they will probably never ever trust each other again but I'm still holding out that they might sing one last time together!! That would be the talk of the world!! How andrew could control this board at that would be beyond me! :D :D

If Arnel's house took a lot of damage from the flooding, I can really believe they might take next year off to give him time to get his life back together. He realizes the dream of owning a house and loses it less than a year later. With a young family who should really have some stabilty in a home environment and an elderly father who he's been away from quite a bit over the last two years, I can't imagine he's too eager to jump back on the road so quickly, epecially now that he's got enough money in his pocket to retire already.
