I don't like it, it must be Assoff's strategy for touring in the present economy.

One recognizable song...no hits. Won't work. And I apologize in advance to Melissa and go fuck yourself Lynn, but Europe sucks. A Europe Journey pairing would be like Archie Bunker dating oprah Winfrey.
Only Mr Big fans, just as only Bryan Adams fans would want to see him. What following does he have? He can't even afford to take a full band on the road unless he hooks onto to a tour with a big act.
LOL, um dude, Bryan Adams can buy Journey 5 times over. He has plenty of money. He chooses to tour acoustically. You aren't serious here are you?
My point was fans would come to see the concert and know songs from BOTH aretists if it were an Adams/Journey pairing, but that wouldn't be the case if it were a Journey/Mr Big pairing.
Then it must be from saving a lot by cutting costs....he hasn't played a "big" tour since he did the baseball park tour with Def Lep has he?
You could be correct about people knowing more of his songs than Mr Big I suppose, he does have two or three more hits, I guess.
Adams looks gayer than Cronin...

NMT- I hate to be the one to tell you this, but BA has more hits than Journey does. And as far as looking gay. well I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder. I don't judge dude's looks, but Adams is a vegan and does look scrawny, but dude is definitely not gay...you should listen to one of his older songs, Summer of 69 I think it's called. It talks about oral sex with a woman. Pretty nifty tune...catchy as well.

For the record, Rumours has sold 19 million and counting as of RIAA. Escape and Frontiers combined have sold 15 million.
Don wrote:That's the problem with Journey. Their greatest selling effort is actually a compilation put together by Columbia.
For Bon Jovi, there is Slippery When Wet, for GNR, Appetite for Destruction, for Def Leppard its Pyromania or Hysteria. Even the Moody Blues have their Days Of Future Passed.
When you look at the Journey canon, there really is no magnum opus.

Escape has over 10 million sold...no?

The label is the one who has to order and pay for the audit. I don't think Sony has any motivation to do so. I doubt Neal has either..

Something for Perry to work on until the Giants or White Sox (or whoever adopts DSB next) make the playoffs again.

He's working on songs 51-60 right now. Leave him alone.

Don wrote:Sony is offloading the Essential Journey 3.0 pack for around ten bucks, the greatest hits for 7 dollars. As for Perry, he isn't even on their radar anymore. If he doesn't have a product for them, they don't need to hear anything from him. The only time they are going to stir is if the band wants to put out some early concert DVDs that Sony/BMG has in the vault.

Oh, so he has progressed from (paraphrasing) ...thinking about working on an album, thinking about it alot.....
LOL, actually I saw that reported, I'll remain skeptical until I hear him screech out whatever lyrics he's having someone write for him.

Guess we can scratch Pineda off that list.

I've never tried to prop AP up as a great writer, I haven't heard any of his compositions...haven't heard any of Perry's from the last decade and a half either, assuming there are any![]()
I don't fault the guy for retiring since he can't bring it anymore...but cut out feeding these misleading crumbs of a promise of new music to blind followers.

If I remember correctly, Arnel's contract was 3 years. That means he's up next year - coinciding with the release of the new album and tour. If it all flops, and SP is sitting around with "50 new songs"...![]()
Not rooting for a flop, mind you...
That's the way it usually is for all bands ...they are a risk, so was AP!!Don wrote:I think Arnel got UNINTENTIONALY screwed in a way with Revelation. From what he has said, he was paid upfront for everything, basically not based on whether the album OR the tour was a success or not. Being an equal partner now is cool but the chances of this album pulling in as much money as Rev are pretty small. He will get cash from the touring but even there, I'm thinking "Why tour with TWO other bands?" Too many people getting paid from the same pot when you do that.
