Saint John's Review Of Eclipse

The_Noble_Cause wrote:"Human Feel" is a great jam. The free-form interplay between Neal and the rest of the band toward the end reminds me of La Raza Del Sol on the Vegas dvd, with Jon and Neal trading off. I can listen to that and never get bored. Lyrics about dispassionate souless technology set to a tribal primitive drumbeat also makes for a very clever contrast. Def. not one of the album's best tunes, but no turkey either.

They should be able to turn this into a fun live tune me thinks.

Neither do I, but there are definitely fanboys here who cannot stand to have someone disagree with the kool-aid they like to dish out. As far people coming here who don't have an interest in Eclipse, it goes back to what I've said before. There are many types of Journey fans here. I still definitely consider myself a Journey fan, but not necessarily of the current line-up. So, to say I have no interest in the band is very incorrect. A lot of my friends, on the other hand, have lost interest in all aspects of Journey, and that's OK too. But, as long as Journey is still performing, there will always be a reason for all types of Journey fans to come here and talk about the band. And honestly, they should have every much the right to come in and rant and rave about the present band as people do about Steve Perry and other past members of the band. And your last point should go for everyone, not just directed toward those who don't always have a glaring optimistic view of the band. It works both ways, and that is something every member here needs to understand.

Exactly who, other than Art and maybe S2M, in this thread has stated to you that they are making their judgments solely based on sound bytes of the album? Who? Because you're coming in here and making a lot of accusations that you know nothing about. You've actually accused me of not listening to the album. Surely, if someone listens to Eclipse they're going to fall in love with it! Got news for you, not necessarily. If I had not listened to the album from start to finish several, several times, just like I have stated, several, several times (even though you were too dumb to see that early) then I would not be posting my thoughts on the album, because obviously, I'd have no basis for my displeasure of it. BUT, since I obviously HAVE listened to the album, enough to be able to convey my thoughts, then I should have every much the right to come in here and piss in your cornflakes as you coming in here and making these false claims and talking about agendas or some shit.

You know, I'm just going to end this conversation now, because obviously you're a child. A very stupid, mentally challenged child. You make Timmy off of South Park look like a freakin' genius. By the way, the album is $10.88 at my Walmart. Shame on you for short changing Journey by almost $3 dollars.

Have I talked about Eclipse TENS of hours??
I shared my personal opinion about the album. In fact I gave it a 7/10. So you only justify the $8 spent on a CD you talk about, ONLY and ONLY if you think its a 10/10.
I dont expect you to dislike the CD as much as you expect those who DONT like it to like it.
This is the JOURNEY section of a popular forum where people discuss Journey-related subject, new material included, without having to sugarcoat everythng and worship the band. Sorry you cant sleep at night because some people choose not to like the CD or even buy the CD.

Its a 9/10...and I don't care if someone thinks its a 0 or a 10. Its those that say its N/A who continue to talk about it that confuse me: "I'm not buying Eclipse from Journey, but let me pop in and spend the rest of the year talking about Eclipse."

But I digress, this is the post that derailed the thread. I apologize to Dan for Eric's behavior. We will reassure you it doesn't happen again!

I find it hysterical (and a little disturbing, too) that there are people who have followed Journey hardcore throughout their lives and have discussed Eclipse for hours and hours but won't spend $8 on it.
