Whitesnake's video and Foreigner's videos (When It Comes To Love / Can't Slow Down) are pretty well done. Only complaint about the Whitesnake video is that David Coverdale is in it....LOL! Dude scares me to death!

Really, the best video Journey has ever done was the "When You Love A Woman" video. Other than that, historically, the band has never had "epic" videos.

He and Deen should be in the same band and do a death metal thing or something like that.

GCHI video is 80s cheese. WTF w/ SPs lame tuxedo tails? It's about as cheesy as Elvis' Vegas jump suit (and not skinny Elvis, either) Image

And what's with the painter's smock Cain is wearing? All that's missing here is a keytar

The Tails were his trademark from Departure on...

From most of what I hear, the "new guy" is super talented and he takes a lotta crap here- a lot of it which is pretty unfair not to mention erroneous. He's also been extremely cool to Journey fans, even those who have dumped on him. As for Perry, the guy was amazing. DUH. But to me, a lot of the stuff he did to his band really took the shine off the crown and just screams ahole. Granted, he was responsible for most of their success. I've never said anything different. I was the biggest Perry fan there was. But with all that's come out and his actions towards his fans today has just made me realize that he's kind of an ass. So is Neal. So is Cain, etc. I've never said Neal was "the man". I'm not huge Neal Schon fan though I love his band. In fact, out of all of em, Arnel and Augeri have pretty much been the classiest ones of the bunch just by how they relate to their fans. At least they DO relate to their fans unlike Perry who just sits and leads his fans on and whines about his days with Journey. But to throw so much crap at the current lineup and their current voice without also pointing out the flaws of the former monarchy is just being biased. Hey, if you don't like their new record, who gives a crap? But, while people are saying how much they like it, here you come with "it's just not as good as... " whatever. There's no difference there in that if people are going on about the Separate Ways video that I can't say "Um, actually, it sucked".

Whatever.
This is a great post ...
I agree w/ a lot of it, and the parts I don't agree
with ...who cares?!? It's your take!!

If this is an official video from the band, the only real gripe I have is the fact that the audio and video are not in synch. That said, why should they spend a heap of money on a video that nobody is going to play. No one will play the music on the radio, do we really think someone will be airing the video. It is a Youtube jobby (Friga term) and for that, it is passable.

Foreigner and Whitesnake aren't exactly as big as Journey is at the moment but they manged to put out decent videos. I think if you are going to put something out there with your band's name on it, it least make it a quality effort.

These guys were talking about how they made more money in the least year then any other time in their career. Is the band really that cheap now days?
Eclipse packaging should have saved them a few bucks already.

I think that was a personal effort thoroughly culled from pro takes...some segments even seemed to be outtakes off Ramona's Everyman's Journey. For that vid to be an official edit would be absurd...it rather intimated some social cancer...kind of a city mired in despair lol...

You mean kind of like how much of the Philippines are? Looks like there is a lot of truth in the video.

What I meant to underscore was the inadequacy of the vid from a production standpoint...the stale visual interpretation. Assuming the attempt was official, it left so much to be desired...the unimaginative matter-of-fact documentary-ish approach didn't do the song justice at all.

Yes, but I believe Whitesnake is the headliner of their tour...there are not three bands on the bill.

The tails worn in that video are the equivalent of parachute pants.

It could be argued that internationally Whitesnake is bigger than Journey. In Europe, Foreigner may be just as big as Journey.

Yes hasn't been selling shit as of late, even their touring venues are small but somehow they found the money to do a decent video.
Financing isn't the problem, it's simply apathy on the part of Journey's management when it comes to doing any type of promotion beyond what Arnel's fans round up with their homegrown petitions.
