EG: I've bought no fewer than 3 copies of Escape now, allowing for original release cassette, remaster cassette cassette '96 and remaster cd '06 and I'd venture a guess I'm not alone in that boat.

Additionally I said "arguably since '83," not "they're every bit as successful now as they were in 1983.

"Sane"? Successful "is in the eyes of the beholder." Let's compare to DLR and Sammy's Van Halen and of course there is no "sane" comparison b/c Sammy created his own "torch." ROR sold over 2 million w/several hot 100 hits and similar TBF platinum, Hot 100 WYLAW and grammy nomination so how can there be a jump back to 1983. Take the copycat Greatest Hits off Revelation and DVD and what kinda sales would there have been. Guess the dismal sales of Eclipse speaks to that. Take out the double counts and you have about 1 million sold for Revelation and Eclipse. Is there a probability of remastering of Revelation (GH out-sales) or Eclipse (colossal flop) for any future sales? Schon tells us "they used to be with Walmart but Walmart no longer in the music business."(UCR 5/2012)

Since the colossal flop of Eclipse, guess they now want to try to recreate the past again ("Motown/R&B" per Schon) as they "throw things at the wall to see what sticks."

Steve Perry is very happy with all the "original music" they created together that guides ALL "all the way to the bank as a result." Thanks to Sopranos, Glee, Rock of Ages, Sony, itunes, The Voice, AI..... it seems to keep going "on and on."

Is this where we give'em a big round of applause for "living off past glories" and "flogging the mule." Schon's been at it so long and REALLY WANTS the spotlight so hopefully he's not "hanging" his head 'in shame" with his inability to create something else wanted by other than a handful of people.

Neal's always tossing around musical ideas. At one point he discussed doing some sort of Latin fusion thing w/ Jon. His desire to re-explore "Motown/R&B" could have something to do with Eclipse's dismal sales, but I doubt it. Anything "new" by Journey will fail commercially.

If we're back to halving platinum sales of double albums then are we lopping 50% off of every double album total too? Or only Revelation? :?
How come Revelation's not triple platinum, anyway? Because the third disc is a dvd? Seems like fuzzy math to me. :)
