Any speculation as to why Arnel is not cordless on the MIC?

No need to debate it. The schooled sound engineer knows all. Just ask him.

You reply "Your previous mentor not good enough?"

What does your reply have to do with my initial post?

I don't have to... because the context of your post does not state what he DIDN'T mentor you in... so the assumption is EVERYTHING..

That's the sentence right there. Read it closely. He was my mentor as I felt that I could learn from him how to accomplish was he was already accomplishing on stage with his performance and vocal abilities.

At an earlier place in the thread, someone mentioned that I considered Arnel as my "brother". In my post above is why I chose to write "To be more accurate," Because I cared for all band members, including Arnel as a brother, but more accurately I viewed Arnel as not only a brother but also a mentor, where I could learn something that could help me accomplish what he's already accomplishing.

What you just did above is called taking my post out of context... and explains why you clearly don't get the context of your own posts. It also explains why, even when your own posts are quoted, in whole (so there can be no mistake regarding context) you do not understand what subsequent posts are referring to.

What "supposed" means is just that.

I have no idea if you know Arnel or not... neither does anyone here.... Everyone here knows Rip knows Arnel... but he's not qualifying his posts with their friendship, like YOU ARE.

Nobody cares if you know Arnel... but you've brought it up more than once in th is thread... and NO I'm not going to post your posts for you... go re-read them for yourself.

In the English language.. sentences end with periods.

To be more accurate, Arnel was very much a mentor to me.

See the period at the end of the sentence?

And again... what you post now.. for context... did not exist when I quoted you...

ahh yes the post you deleted that Don quoted..... lets examine that for context shall we?

I consider him my brother and I also consider the rest of the AMO Band members my brothers and I will never betray them.

With that said, I've known Arnel personally. I've also known Uly (refer wiki) personally. I was there with Arnel and AMO back in the 80's during the Cal-Jam days.

What are you going to see on the next Journey Album? I can't really tell for sure. But what I can say is, Arnel has a vocal trademark. He has the ability to hit the high notes and beyond and to hold those notes for prolonged periods of time. Watch for that trademark to be incorporated into the new songs that will come out on the Journey CD, they just may be there.

We all should be very happy, rock may be returning as we all know and love it. It's not going to be a fly by night grung style that sounds like ass. It's going to be rock the way we all loved it back in the 80's, now in the new age.

I'm very happy for my brother Arnel from the AMO Band family to finally make it......Arnel deserves it. He's loved singing these songs with all his heart for so long, and with all of his passion, he performed on stage with all of his heart and soul and it's now his time to shine as a brilliant star upon us. And I'll be right there to watch him, this time in the audience.

All the best, Kameron Vitario

Just what does that have to do with providing context regarding specifically how Arnel mentored you, as a singer, or at all??

The topic of this thread became a moot point days ago and I really should have lost interest in it but it's kinda like a terrible car accident that you pass on the highway - you know you shouldn't look but you just can't help yourself...  :D :D

That said...

At the risk of contradicting myself with regard to the "second shooter.... er... I mean, second mic", (and to also play Devil's advocate...) is it possible it's to capture the audio of the audience for inclusion on a live album? On Captured, Perry says, "...ya see this microphone right here? Ya see this one right over here? Do you know what that means? There's a live album and you are here, you are recording a live album tonight! You!"

When I wrote that, which was roughly five years ago, I was simply expressing my happiness for Arnel’s accomplishment as becoming a member of Journey. Of course I didn’t put every single thing down about Arnel or my direct historical connection with him in that posting. It was irrelevant that I put down every single detail about my past experience with him in that letter. It was my sincere expressions of being happy for his very long overdue accomplishment. Interesting to read that post now, because I mentioned betray in it. Dates the time that I wrote that, "Susie" was telling me in pms that Arnel would betray me like all people who become famous do to their old friends of when they weren't famous. "Susie" said that to me after I refused to provider her with personal information, videos and pix from Arnel's past. I added that betray part just for her when she read my post.

You want to analyze? Analyze your premise for reposting something that you got from Don which I posted over five years back. Matter of fact, Don can even tell you more about my premise behind that post as I mentioned it to him when I pm’ed him about the post a few months back, if he’s not already told you.

What in that reposted do you not agree with, doesn’t fit your agenda or that you can fault me on? Obviously you think there’s something or you wouldn’t have gone through the effort to dig it up.

Capture the audio of the audience for inclusion on a life album? Very well possible.

In recards to the other you wrote, it all just depends on if slucero likes you or not. If I wrote that suggestion, with his panties bunched up in a knot, he'd first advise me that he's a schooled sound engineer and then piss and moan about every detail to no end. If he likes you, he'll approve of your suggestion and opinion. Lets see what he replies and then we will know.

As I pointed out... no one captures mono audio... for use in a live release... that's why in 1980 when Captured was recorded, Perry pointed at one mic, on the edge of the stage, which was pointed at the crowd... and said:

"...ya see this microphone right here?"

Then ran all the way across the stage.... and pointed at another mic on the edge of the stage, also pointed AT the the crowd.... and said,

"Ya see this one right over here? There's a live album and you are here, you are recording a live album tonight! You!"

Recording live audio for release is the same as recording in the studio... just as in the studio vox & instruments are either mic's or DI'd (direct insert) to the mixing board. When recording live audio the individual inputs (vox & instruments) are also then routed to a recording device (tape or these days to computer disk). The only difference with recording "live audio" is the need to record audience noise, so it can be mixed and blended with the vox & instrument tracks, and create a stereo image...

The mics Perry were pointing to are the mics used to record crowd noise... and they also capture a bit of the mains feed, but due to the mic placement (inside the mains stacks and pointed towards the crowd) most of what they "hear" is the crowd noise.

A single mic, in front of the drums.. would not accomplish this.

wrong again,....

1. I always said the mic was a back up...

2. Someone else said they'd seen Arnel using it...

3. I then said "The simple fact that Arnel uses it negates it's use for anything else, other than a backup mic."

4. So the logical and correct conclusion is that it's a back up mic... You have also said the same thing,

You have said.

1. you are not an audio technician... (that essentially nullifies your "expertise' on the subject.)

Opinions that cannot be factually supported are guesses... so "details" are kinda important if one wants to be factual, which you obviously don't, because your continued desire to continue speculating about something that you've already admitted you know nothing about only serves to further magnify your ignorance on the topic, and a childish desire to argue.

Grow up.

Great observation on your part Slucero. Please direct me on where I ever claimed I was some type of sound engineer. Up to this point, I've always maintained that what I've suggested in opinion is just that. Where at in this entire thread did anyone say in order to post you have to be a "sound engineer" and provide only facts based on that criteria?

As with anything in life, if you want to be taken seriously when having a conversation, you must at least know a little bit about what you are conversing about... its sort of a human thing...

Like I posted earlier... clearly you don't get the context of your own posts. It also explains why, even when your own posts are quoted, in whole (so there can be no mistake regarding context) you do not understand what subsequent posts are referring to, and instead you continue argue like a child.

There is no possibility of having a cogent, adult conversation with you because, much like a person who likes to hear themselves talk... all you want to do is see yourself post...

At this point, and since this thread was about a "mic on a stage"... which it clearly isn't about now... I'll simply bow out.. unless of course you make another uniformed technical audio guess on the topic that needs correcting....

Badly? How so? I'm still working, still got my job, still got my benefits, still got my family all in good happiness, happiness and well-being. Got all of my possessions, cars are running well, doesn't seem I've lost anything of any value or importance. So what is it that I lost again?

Oh, you mean a senseless debate over a stupid thing on a stage that could be a mic or a camera or some bullshit that doesn't matter except to some who have no life of their own. Yeah, that would be a huge loss to be you dude. If I were you I can see how "this" would be a bad loss.

Next debate, does he wear briefs, boxers or nothing while doing a concert and why. Note: Just so there is no debate, only individuals holding a degree in the undergarment industry are allowed to post.

The argument. Well, not 'the' argument. You have lost every disagreement you have had in this thread. You look like a clueless fool, not understanding anything he talks about, making arguments about insignificant things that he makes significant by arguing with people who DO know what they are talking about.

Move on.

You really shouldn't have added that to your post. I really have no idea what your point is. It seems like you are making some lame attempt at an insult, but it is so obscured by YOUR limitations of the English language that I really can't decipher what you are saying.

Get over it...move on.

Here is the reason why:

You said, "Oh, you mean a senseless debate over a stupid thing on a stage that could be a mic or a camera or some bullshit that doesn't matter except to some who have no life of their own"

You are the one who started this thread and asked the question. So, it obviously matters to you. Do you not have a life of your own?

Do you realize how easy that is? Do you not know there is a time when you are better off to just shut the fuck up?

Ok lets move on.

A source claims that they saw a Fruit Of The Loom tag that apparently ripped off from someones drawers and fell on the deck while Arnel was doing DSB. So...Next debate, does he wear briefs, boxers or nothing while doing a concert and why. And if he wears none, who's drawers then did it come off of? Neil, Ross, Deene, Cain? Yeah Cain looks like a Fruit of the Loom kind of guy. Note: Just so there is no debate, only individuals holding a degree in the undergarment industry are allowed to post.

Well, I can see there's no need to hang around here. You all seem to be doing fine on your own. Carry on!

I noticed Arnel used both a wireless and wired mic in Greensboro. I don't believe it has anything to do with the wireless signal. Pat Benatar, from what I remembered, used a wireless mic and was just fine. So, I have no idea why Arnel would use both. :?
