New Perry Album - The Season

I understand some people do NOT like Christmas songs, but what if Perry released an album of Beatles Covers? Would you like that?

I guess an album of Sam Cooke covers would be more in line with what Perry likes. Would you like that?

I'd MUCH prefer either of these options. Anything but Shitmas Music.

The more I think about it the more frustrating Revelation was. They had a great contract with Walmart to sell the new album and they were going to have the greatest hits and a live show to back the album. Add in a terrific story about their new vocalist and they just threw the new music together. If they had a great album the fans who bought it would be excited for the follow up. Arnel had as many co-written songs as two of their previous vocalists on the new music.

Revelation, unlike Arrival, had very little in the way of outside writers. While it didn't break any new ground, Revelation is probably the best Journey album you're going to get out of Schon/Cain - especially when they are doing most of the heavy creative lifting. I never got the impression that it was just thrown together. I actually get the impression that some songs (ex. Where Did I Lose Your Love) had been sitting around waiting for a chance to get recorded.

Where Did I Lose Your Love sounded to me like The Storm which is funny because The Storm sounded more like Journey than most of the stuff Journey has done since Frontiers, if you know what I mean. (I love the song.)

I think Perry is waiting to tour in 2022 or 2023. He is taking his time. But it might NOT be a tour any of us want to see.

Stuff like Never Walk Away and After All These Years is just classic Journey thrown together (but very fun songs)

He's suffering from Alzheimer's, but when the piano starts he remembers all lyrics and melodies.
The man is a national treasure! I'm sure there's not a singer alive that can even imagine being onstage at 95.

People seem to get too caught up on just a few things that makes them dislike the performer and their music; it usually is visual, but what’s most important I think for most is the way the performance makes you feel.

The visual part is sad but true. The feeling part is super important. When you take a happy song and detune it a full step or more, it's no longer happy.

Well after several plays, I must say, I am not to happy with spending my money on this. First time I can say that, with Perry on it. I was really expecting the songs to have the Perryism we all know and love. Instead we get the Jazzy laid back approach, which I am not a fan of. Wasn't looking for a Journey does Christmas, just something more passionate. This is too laid back. His voice is good, the music is good, love the piano player. This seems more like snuggle with baby with a fire going, making love to her, if you don't fall asleep first. I wanted something more it is a Christmas party let's put on Perry's new CD. At the same time I do not want a Christmas CD that says your house is on fire either.
Just disappointed, it is not bad, but a long way from what I was wanting.
