I am glad he showed up, as I am sure all of Journey was glad that he showed up. Perry was a big part of Journey's success, everyone knows it. Perry IMO needed to be there.

But, I am curious how OhSherrie and HOTS really felt about it. Because, for the longest time, the two of them kept expressing the belief that Perry would not show up because that would show some sort of acceptance of Journey continuing...

Jrnyman,

I didn't think Perry would go either, but HE sure gave US all one hell of a suprise!!! :D

I certainly don't believe that because HE came to WOF that meant HE was in support of current Journey. I believe he came because he DERSERVED to be honored for all his accompishments & contributions that he made in Journey & that he came for the FANS as well. I don't believe it had anything to do with him supporting the current line up of Journey.

I hope he gets the part. He's such a sweet guy and so was Tiny. :)

Yeah, because your man looked so impecable that he was beyond critique, right?

If i didn't know better, I would've thought this dude to be a bloated corpse Deano helped pull from the fetid waters of Biloxi.

That was "extremely tacky" NC, using the flood victime to tear down Perry. Unfortunately though, I've learned to expect these kind of awful comments from you.

And before you go hysterical like you always do & point out that HOTS said something unkind about Augeri, just go back & READ ALL the unkind remarks YOU'VE MADE about Perry, LONG BEFORE HOTS made this comment towards Augeri.

I guess HOTS comparing Augeri to someone who is similarly deceased is somehow not "tacky" ?
Talk about selective judgement.

PROPERRY wrote:Unfortunately though, I've learned to expect these kind of awful comments from you.

As I've come to expect absolutely NOTHING of meritable contribution or even meager intelligence from you ever on this forum.

PROPERRY wrote:And before you go hysterical like you always do...

So, incontrovertibly proving you to be a gasbag blowhard somehow makes me "hysterical"?

Lori-you're an idiot ideologue.
I just looked thru all 4 pages of this thread and I hadn't barely said a disparaging word about Perry until I posted that pic. HOTS, on the other hand, had been incessantly dragging down Augeri since her initial post in this thread.
Jesus, can u try to get ur facts straight at least once?

But Perry does support the current lineup of Journey in so far as he agreed to let them continue in exchange for whatever financial consideration he got in return. So his pocket book took higher priority than his conviction that the "stone" shouldn't be broken or whatever that bs statement was.
So, imo, he supports the current lineup because he allowed them to continue, he just will not acknowledge that or endorse them so that he can play the victim.

Ummm, excuse me here, but I don't think any of us knows what kind of give and take went into their negotiations. I also don't think the results that we've seen of them are any indication of how they felt about them.

If he is still being paid by them, why shouldn't he be paid for the music that they're touring on? If it hadn't been for him, the show that the crowds are paying to see wouldn't even exist. Why should he not try to protect the integrity of his life's work by asking them not to use the name Journey("don't crack the stone")? It seems like a pretty natural, human feeling to me.

You have no moral footing to stand on.
You started with the lead singers/deceased people comparisons (Steve Augeri to Tiny Tim analogy).
I just did it back - bigger, better, and none too suprisingly, funnier.
What an inflated opinion you have of yourself NC...It would be funny if not so pathetic...

Nomota is correct.
If Perry truly believed that the "stone should not be cracked" then he shouldn't have signed off on the name.
Jon gave him credit for doing that stating,

"he's classy enough not to stand in our way. I have to give him that. He's very classy to stand back and let us move forward and not be pulling lawsuits and what not.
It could be much worse so we have to look at it from the good side of what he's allowing us to do in carrying on."

You're a callous loser, NC. You spend all day on a Journey board defending them like some rabid animal, then you have the sick audacity to put down the gulf coast flood victims. And don't try to cower behind the, "I'm insutling Perry, not the flood victims" pretext, because it's lame, just like you.

I haven't cowered.
In fact I've bountifully responded (quote by quote) to just about every thing you've thrown at me.
You want to talk about cowering?
You've still yet to answer this...

HOTS likewise invoked the appearance of the dead (ridiculing the characteristics of the late Tiny Tim).
Seems to me that if you were truly such a morally scrupulous man you'd be all over HOTS for invoking the appearance of the deceased, as well.

Quit waxing puritanical for a moment (if that's truly possible) and answer that.

Put up or shut up.
I've asked you several times now to explicitly show where I allegedly abased the victims who lost their lives to the storm.
Unless you come up with something soon, I am left with no choice but to interpret your silence as a resounding affirmation of your comment's indefensibility .

I don't need to defend my comments. The proof is in the pudding. NC is a callous ass, end of story. Call me what you want for putting your sacred band down (a once-good band, I might add), but it's pretty disgusting to resort to jokes about bloated flood victims.

And I agree that Perry looks like shit in that picture, just so you know.

Saw them on Sept. 3rd and they were amazing (met the band, too -great guys).

He should be paid royalties on his songwriting, nothing else, in my opinion.
There must have been some prior arrangement that dictated buying him out of his share of the name if he got anything more than that.
I didn't say he shouldn't be concerned about the integrity, just that evidently the money took priority over that concern.

NC likes to throw his big words out there, twist and turn statements around...face it NC, your statements about the flood victims were tasteless, not funny, as much as you think they may be.
And I AM surprised that Deano is sticking behind you after those cruel, morbid statements, seeing that he is in the midst of it all doing something positive. Think what you will about me. Tear me apart with the whole "meds" thing, becuse 1. What you say has no affect on my life, and 2. We both know you would NEVER say it to my face...

What we DO know, is that Perry is being compensated for his involvement in Journey. Also, we DO know that Perry let the band continue. And he did so without a lawsuit. We DO know that Journey and Perry came to a legal and binding agreement which allowed Journey to continue. What we can "assume" from that, is that his "Don't break the stone" convictions were not so strong that Perry stopped Journey from continuing.
