Can you list the Augeri-era dates for comparison?
What I'm getting at is this: people have repeatedly commented about how SP was a prick and wouldn't use his voice to talk to people before and/or after his shows. Well, holy shit! With a workload like you've just posted I can see why!!!! It's a wonder he has a voice left at all!!! I had no earthly idea the number of shows they did. Seeing it listed like that certainly puts it into perspective. It's kinda sad, actually. Some people like to sit back and criticize Steve Perry for not wanting to sing, but we all know that he was the hardest working man on that stage night after night after night...I mean no offense to any of the rest of the band, but it's gotta be the truth.
I'd just like to see how SP and SA's tour schedules compare side-by-side.

I'd like to see that comparison too Donna. I keep hearing(reading) so much about how Neal destroyed poor Stevie Awesome's voice by making him tour too much. How a
true Journey fan should pity and respect Stevie because he sacrificed his golden(sorry peeps it was brass) voice for Journey. Then he was treated so badly by those big, bad meanie bandmates and their fans. Oh boo hoo.
The man with the true 24 carat pipes toured for five consecutive years on those grueling schedules, recorded(and wrote for) four great albums between those tours, and went on within the next three years to record Street Talk and ROR and toured again. Eight years later he wrote and recorded another solo album and toured for it. Then, lo and behold he reunited with Journey to write and record another million selling album.
Then when he couldn't tour for it, all I heard from many of these same
true journey fans was "Perry who?" and "Who needs Perry, we got someone who can sing now?" (Oh yeah, he sure did sing for the last two years didn't he?

) Where was all this Journey fan loyalty to the man who helped create the TRUE JOURNEY that gave Stevie Awesome a job he couldn't do?
It's many of these same fans that aren't willing to give JSS the same chance they gave Augeri. How is his replacing the inadequate replacement so much more offensive to them than Augeri replacing Perry? This "it won't sound like the true Journey to me" line is just bullshit. It hasn't sounded like the TRUE JOURNEY for 10 years.
It's going to sound a hell of a lot more like the
true Journey with Jeff than it has for 10 years because it's going to have a
true kick-ass frontman with a great voice again.
While we're looking at tour schedules it might be interesting to look at a comparative one of Jeff's too. He came into this year's tour off of one of his own with a tired voice and still out sung Augeri.
