From the lobby of the hospital.
A major hurdle was jumped today. For those not familiar to TTTS. Basically, one baby(Donor) is getting too much blood supply and starving the other(Recipient) from adequate blood supply. Doctor went in with a laser and diverted some blood to the starving baby. The procedure should start correcting the problem soon. There is however, one more hurdle.
Tomorrow morning is the moment of truth. A couple factors are in play. There is a hole in the embrionic sack, caused by the laser. it usually closes back up on it's own, but sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't close back up, the sack(s) will burst and Lula will go into labour, and it's obviously too early for that. The babies would not make it. The other problem is the bigger of the two babies' heart is working so hard because he has too much blood to pump, has developed a hardened valve in his heart. Only time will tell if he will make it.
Very nice to come here and see so much support. It is overwhelming. I have never experienced the emotional rollercoaster as I had this morning. I hope you all understand, I am not made of teflon. Yes, I actually have emotions too, and not always the angry kind either!
Thank You again, to all of you. It is such a elief to know people care.

Hopefully, there will be no more problems...It's frustrating, but you both have to keep the faith.

The doctors and all the prayes coming your way will do wonders.
Good luck to you both,God bless the babies.
