Yes you do have a huge hand in deciding your fate. And you better use your head as much, if not more than, your heart.

Stay and post Jeremey, but just like Lora and I pointed out comments you made, so will others.

For me, it is not just about the music. It is about whether or not the singer/musician reaches me. Moves me. Makes me feel. When I listen to Steve Perry's voice, it literally alters my brain chemestry and takes me to that place. I can listen to someone else sing the very same song, the very same notes and.....nothing. Journey seems to want to play to people who don't know or care who is singing as long as they get close to the original sound. They will probably do just fine. But don't catagorize those who aren't going along for the ride as "fickle." I know my own heart and will follow it as you must follow yours.

I understand exactly what you're saying Lora. Some of us have been labeled as Perryheads and then later Perryloons for trying to make people understand why just hitting the notes or singing in the same range wasn't enough.

The band obviously intends to continue though with someone singing those songs. I took what Jeremey said to mean that whoever sings for them shouldn't be labelled and judged according to where they came from or what they were doing when they were chosen, but according to how well they do with the band. I thought he as saying the "fickle" ones were the ones that were using his gig as a tribute singer as an excuse to not like him or an insult to him the way some used Augeri's job at Gap.

I threw the job at the turkey farm in there because some of us 'heads or 'loons used to get that thrown in our face as an insult to Perry the way some of those very people are now using the tribute band label as an insult to Jeremey.

Yup, at the end of the day, all that matters is this - IS IT JOURNEY?

I'm with froy here. The Survivor guy is totally amazing... WOW! Thanks to treetopovskaya for pointing it out.
I'm not too crazy about Jeremey's voice. First listen to this...

and then to Jeremey...

And everyone with ears must hear what Jeremey lacks! Backings suck too!

You are right about one thing, the survivor cover singer does have a great voice for the most part, but he's absolutely having to scream to get to some of those notes and he won't have a voice if he keeps doing that. If you think that's better than Jeremey, I guess that's your business.

Aw God  PLEASE don't do this SAME petty thing with Jeremey that you did with JSS.
It's becoming a pattern and Hunsicker has been PLENTY complimentary of Augeri and JSS and obviously we know how he feels about pery.

PLEASE Maria don't be nasty & jump all over Jeremey. He is getting punished horribly for taking an opportunity to live out his dream. Most people in his shoes would do EXACTLY what he's doing. If he gets the job, I WANT him to stick around & post. That way, we will once again have access to a member of Journey & be able to maintain contact w/Jeremey. Even if he doesnt get the job, I WANT him to stick around b/c quite honestly he's one of the nicest people who ever posted on this forum (& yeah, I know Augeri was a really nice guy too but he didnt post here) & I REALLY enjoy his points of view on things.

Dont take Jeremey's words out of context like this. U hate it when someone takes urs out of context. Well he's a person too & feels the same way! He hasnt done ONE thing wrong. His statement: "Whether it is a tribute band singer, Gap maintenance manager, or a vocal swiss army knife, everyone has to come from somewhere." was by NO means a "slag" on Augeri. It was simply a statement of fact & a very good one.

Please dont drive this good man off this forum. I dont think he'll yell back at u like Jeff did. He's got too much personal crap going on so he'll just stay away. Maybe that will make u happy. If so, that is really not cool. So please, just as u ask him to stop & think about what he posts & its impact, stop & think about what ur posting.

She's actually hoping to push Jeremey into losing his cool so she can get on her soap box about how her sweet, humble Augeri would never have done so.

That was excellent! What a voice he has. If the band is truly interested in finding someone who can recapture their original sound then I'm pulling for you, Jeremey. I've also listened to your own material lately and am very impressed. :D

Umm no ohsherrie, no Bonnie and no Susie...........

just tired of how often the Gap comments have to be continued, yup defending Augeri. Just like every time someone says something about Perry ohsherrie is all over them, or when someone touches precious Neal, Bonnie is jumping in to defend.

And Susie I am so glad I could help you and Joe make up.

He didnt NEED defending. It wasnt an insult to him. Look up some of his interviews (u might have them memorized :-) ). He said in MANY of them that he was a maintenance manager at the Gap. If u want to blame anyone for that info getting out, blame him!
