For the record, I don't believe Perry had any hip surgery, due to reasons that have been previously stated here.

As for Lora, she did interviews with Steve for the Journey newsletter, and there were always errors. A blatant one was Perry's birthdate...his stated birth year was erroneous, and made him younger than he really was...Oh, or was that a typo?

Or what about the time the newsletters kept telling the fans the ROR tour was around the corner? It wasn't, and it was later revealed (not in the newsletter) that there had been dissension within the band, which ultimately resulted in the firing of Steve Smith and Ross Valory. Or doesn't that count?

You can choose to believe whatever you want, which is what you've obviously done because your belief has no basis in any fact or evidence. It's just one of those theories that the Perry bashers concocted and have used as an excuse to blame him for all of Journey's ills for the last 10 years. And most of you wouldn't admit you were wrong about it even if you did see his medical records.

As for the birthdate thing, that was explained by Steve. It was a management decision to lie about his age in hopes of cashing in on the teeny bopper audience.
