LOL....Lora, go ahead and defend something that you've been ill-defending for Nose-boy since 96.....your motives are called into question, because of the fact that you'd have to back pedal on 11 years of whatever you want to call the stories that came out of Perryville...I have a word for it. I'll respectfully decline to expand on it....I clean up enough of it on my morning walks with the dog.

I've been saying this for a good while...someone needs to see a fucking scar before I'll eat crow on this....and not someone who's been Perry's propaganda bullhorn for years....The logic here is laughable. This is like someone insisting Sadam Husein is still alive and the only guy that can confirm it is old iraq regime propaganda minister that reported the Iraq army sacked Yankee Stadium during the iraq war!!!!! Sadly, loons are the gullible lot that would actually believe such crap!

Tell me Lora, if it's such a true story....how did it happen? What specifically was Heir Perry doing when he supposedly injured his hip? Because whatever bullshit story you quote, I can hit you with at least 2 or 3 other *reliable* news sources where the supposed 'activity' Stevie was involved in is very different. Can we discuss timelines? When exactly did this theoretical 'injury' happen? I'd love to hear another bedtime tale!

No this is just a case of a little mamma's boy faking his sickness and hoping his mommy let him stay home from school.

Actually Red, sorry but that sentence rings true for me. But then again my world doesn't revolve around whether Steve is ever going to sing again or not. Of course I'd love it if he sang again, but hey, there is so much more to life. :)

Loon Alert!

Postby mistiejourney » Wed Aug 29, 2007 2:36 am

Ahem....

I would be perfectly willing to ascertain whether or not there is a scar on the hip of a certain singer.

Just in case someone is looking for a volunteer to do so.....

For the record, I don't believe Perry had any hip surgery, due to reasons that have been previously stated here.

Unless, of course, one of your bunch has access to his medical records.......

As for Lora, she did interviews with Steve for the Journey newsletter, and there were always errors. A blatant one was Perry's birthdate...his stated birth year was erroneous, and made him younger than he really was...Oh, or was that a typo?

Or what about the time the newsletters kept telling the fans the ROR tour was around the corner? It wasn't, and it was later revealed (not in the newsletter) that there had been dissension within the band, which ultimately resulted in the firing of Steve Smith and Ross Valory. Or doesn't that count?

You can choose to believe whatever you want, which is what you've obviously done because your belief has no basis in any fact or evidence. It's just one of those theories that the Perry bashers concocted and have used as an excuse to blame him for all of Journey's ills for the last 10 years. And most of you wouldn't admit you were wrong about it even if you did see his medical records.

As for the birthdate thing, that was explained by Steve. It was a management decision to lie about his age in hopes of cashing in on the teeny bopper audience.

So you think Lora lied about the ROR tour? It couldn't be that she was just reporting the information that she was given? Well then who's been doing all the lying that's gone on since neither she nor Steve are with them anymore?

I am not a Loon, therefore I do not choose to "believe whatever I want to." It's not a "theory" and it's not something the "Perry bashers concocted."

I stated facts. You don't like the facts I stated, so you came out with guns blazing. Frankly, you don't know what you're talking about. There are Journey historians here who don't post anymore. They know.

As for the medical records, I would say the burden of proof is in your court, so to speak.

As for seeing medical records, that would be the Loon department. Wasn't it one of your Loon friends who went looking for Perry's mother's Death Certificate???
I am guessing Lora doesn't know about that.

I think Lora did and does whatever she's paid to do. What a concept, huh?

And I still say Perry didn't have hip surgery. He simply left the building for the umpteenth time.

Perry did address his hip surgery on the radio a few years back. I believe it was on Bob Coburn's radio show.

The debate can last forever and words flung from both sides of the room and shot to and from the hip. Not only will there be required ceritifed and notarized proof from each doctor, nurse, anethesiologist and print outs from the pharmacy of medications and a note from the physical therapist we will need photos of before and after of the man and documentation that indeed it did happen. If the conspiracy theory holds true there has to be measurements taken on the mountain and questions answered as to how or how not he was able to make his way down the said hill with or without assistance and if the weather permitted and the wind was coming off the ocean did it inpact on the time it took for him to make it down to the ground within prescribed amount of time as would normally take a person who suffered said injury. Otherwise it's a sham and a waste of everyone's time to debate without this evidence. I'd like to see any affividavit from any of these people.

Even though Lora is a close friend of Steve's, she isn't the type to lie for him. I believe if she had any doubt to whether Steve's hip injury was real, I don't think she would have said anything at all. But she came out and stated it as fact and I'm taking her word for it over somebody who doesn't even know the guy. It doesn't really matter anyway, people are going to believe what they want to believe. Hell Steve could probably show some of these guys the scar himself, and they'd say.......bahhhh he drew it on.

I bet Frig and Fro love this thread! It takes the heat off of them and puts it back on Perry, exactly where they wanted it all along. Way to go, people. They're probably indoctrinating their new singer right now....telling him what an SOB Perry was. It's their pattern, ya know.

Painful as it must've been for you, I'm glad you said it.
That's how to be a fan of perry's while keeping it real.

Keeping it real? Give me a break, Red. No-one has EVER produced a scintilla of evidence to show that the hip story was fake.

neither has a shred of proof been produced to show the story was true. A lot of "it happened, I know for a fact"s and "I know people who know people who said it happened"s. It's just odd that when you supposedly want to tour, but an injury supposedly keeps you from touring, that you wouldn't remedy the injury so that you could do what you supposedly want to do.

The ONLY thing that is REALLY odd here is how you, and some others CAN'T grasp Steve Perry's past medical condition is none of your business and Perry's decisions are none of your business either!!!

No worries, Deb. I appreciate your comments but it really doesn't matter what a few misinformed people believe. I only responded as Frank was stating his opinion as if it were fact. Lots of misplaced anger from some people but that is their issue, not mine.
