I think if they still need the money and want to continue on
they do need to prove themselves as you worded it, putting out new music
and playing it to the crowds is the best way to do that.
If they want "my" money new music must be involved.

No kidding. C'mon, if even The Who can do it after 24 lonnnnnng ass years of playing Tommy to death, then certainly SchonCain - er, I mean Journey - can crank out a few little ditties.

Wait a sec.... I would LOVE some new music from Journey or SP, etc, but I'm not going to damn the band publicly just because at pushing 60 they decide to keep performing primarily the hits. And let's keep in mind they HAVE released new music the past few years. I don't know, still seems like alot of users here really just want to bash Journey for the sake of bashing? I've never seen this kind of negativity toward a band, coming from people that call themselves "die hard" fans? And I've NEVER seen a forum allow so many fbombs, personal name calling, etc. All that does is allow people to continue to be someone they're not in the comfort of their monitor.

Agreed. The bashing is ridiculous. I'm all for sarcasm and witty retorts, but the constant loop of "your fucking st00pid!" begs of inadequate debating ability and insufficient control over one's temper and ego.

As for the thread topic, yes. All of the boys still rock. I'm of the opinion, personally, that they've improved as musicians since Steve Perry's departure -- but that's likely because the spotlight is no longer on him. Now it seems to be on Neal. I feel bad because Jonathan Cain (on Generations) took a backseat musically. I heard more rhythm guitar than keyboards, and when I did, most of it was drowned out by Neal's guitar.

What you need to realize is that, when you come in here, youre dealing with the MR family, not just die hard fans. You're more than welcome to discuss things with the rest of us, but you just want to cause problems and thats where you will notice us standing up to trolls like yourself.
As many times as we all disagree on things and fight and argue and go back and forth on a daily basis, we're united when needed. This is the house of fun and crazy , but when we smell a rat in the house, we will stand united and make sure we give the rat what it deserve the best. Now you havent got a full rat-killer-treatment (yet) , but youve got a sample of the warning from this MR family. If you change your attitude and start all over , you may have a chance to prove yourself worthy of this wonderful(but crazy) family. If not, dont let the door hit your ass on your way out!

With all due respect, I must disagree. My first day here, I royally and righteously pissed one woman off because I pointed out that I did not feel that JSS could match Steve Perry's upper register. That is ridiculous.

Well it looks to me like your directing your post at me.
Take a look and see for yourself I am not one that usually partakes
in the sort of things your post details.

All I was trying to say is that I think they do need to "prove" themselves if
they want to still make money.
I know they can still gather a crowd at any concerts they give.

I also know that it's the "new music" that will tame the savage beasts.

There's a first time for everything. If you can't handle an "F bomb" go fuck yourself. This is a rock n roll band we are discussing here you know? Neal does swear. Deen swears. Ross drops F bombs. Hell, Espee had a foul mouth on occasion. If you cannot handle this forum, why not go throw on a cross and visit Stryper's site, and make sure to wear something that resembles a bumble bee looking motherfucker. Those Goddamned yellow and black striped yellowjacket outfits are ridiculous.

As for you trying to correct me and my use of the English language, I know more than you, am smarter than you, and can debate you and win easily, everytime, so blow me Hick.

It's about high time to take this board over again. It's rudderless and drifting aimlessly.

Well, I see both sides here...BUT...will add that there is a very loyal group of people that post here and that have been here most of the may years that this board has been active.
So do by all means post away and enjoy the "fun" of this board...but also go back through the old posts and try and get a feel for the commuity of people here.

Andrew, the only reason I spoke up is Behshad called me a bitch once. I haven't forgotten about it--I haven't been called a bitch ever before or since. I've never called him anything; when he began his "MR family" garbage, I couldn't help myself. I'm not sorry, Andrew, so--sorry.
