Usually, the practice of guaranteeing victory is for the participants in a sporting event. This time around, however, one of the men who holds the title to one of the teams in the NFL title fight is providing a prediction about the outcome of the game.

On Friday night, Giants chairman Steve Tisch told the Bergen Record that his team will win Super Bowl XLII.

I've noticed, especially these past 2 years, how a LOT of fans up east are just fucking obnoxious (I'm not saying anything about anyone on this board BTW). Take my brother-in-law (DIE HARD Eagles fan) for instance...he sent me an email after the Gmen beat the 'Boys saying "Awww...couldn't make it through the playoffs to get to the Bowl. WAAAA". I responded with "Did you even hit the wildcard this year?? If not...how the FUCK do you have room to talk???". "Yea...well....the Cowgirls SUCK". "Good comeback. Need I mention AGAIN that we've lost more Bowls than you've been to??? You've got the same record as the Bengals. GOOD JOB. ". No response. Got a call from my sister the next day asking me why I was "Taunting her husband". ?!?!?!?!?!?
"WHAT????? Playing the victim card...OK".
The next week...he knew I was going for the Packers...so pretty much the same emails ensued AND...I got another call from my sister telling me almost the same thing. WTF? Are EITHER of us in this race anymore? NO. Shit....let it GO.

Ok...sorry for that....rather frustrated. I know that when the Giants play and IF they win the Bowl (even though I'm rooting for 'em which sickens me) that I'll get another call with him saying something like "Who's the best in the East?". PLUS...I have my mom to deal with who's ALSO a Pigeons fan. Alls I gotta say is.... 5 RINGS, BITCHES.

Are you people fucking blind? The SB is upon us. Place your bets.

I'm gonna go for the Gmen (God I feel sick for saying that) 21-17. What's YOUR call???

NFC BABY.

Even if the Pats win...I still don't see it being that much of a spread. With the Giants D....they're going to pressure the hell out of Brady, and if they can neutralize the passing game....the Pats are done.

Pressure by the Giants "D" won't be an issue and I'll tell you why. Their secondary is so bad, not to mention banged up, that they're going to play way off of those receivers to prevent big plays. Look for Brady to throw quit hitters to Welker and Moss all day long. Those plays will gain 10-20 yards regularly. And if the Giants try to play bump and run the Pats will hurt them with the deep ball. The Giants defense is in for a very long day. Mark my words. The Pats will cover the spread.

I'm going to bet no less than 10 of those silly fucking gimmick bets anyway. Gloating in your face in Vegas that I was right will be worth much more than a C note. No deal.

I'll grant you that. Plus...the Pats' running game has gotten a lot better with Maroney (sp??). BUT...I DO think the Gmen are gonna give 'em a run for their money. Check out the last game. Giants' D was GREAT. I thought Favre was going to eventually pull it out...but the defense rocked the shit out of him.
This is why I'm not betting this year. Last year...the Colts were a sure thing and I won $50. This one will be a toss up. BUT.....go....<puke>...Giants.

Nobody watches the Pro Bowl! It couldn't be more useless! It's the only sport that has their "all-star game" after the season is already over, so nobody gives a fuck!

Dude...we get your hatred for the Patriots. We really do! That said, try to be somewhat intelligent about your posts! The Giants can neutralize the Patriots passing game? Really? Based on what? Brady had 356 passing yards, and two of the Patriots receivers had over 100 yards receiving, the last time these two teams met! I'm not sure what you're basing it upon. The best argument I've heard for a Giants victory is how well they've been playing for the past month. While I certainly don't disagree with that, let us not lose sight of the fact that the Patriots HAVEN'T LOST A SINGLE FUCKING GAME THE ENTIRE SEASON! The Giants are definitely on a roll, but the Patriots are on an 18-0 roll!

As I said, after the first Patriots/Giants game...It was the best football game I watched, the entire season. Here is the bottom line...The Giants played as well (offensively) as they could possibly play, and still lost the game! The Patriots had their absolute WORST defensive performance, the entire season, and still managed to win! Aside from the hatred, across the country, toward the Patriots there is no rational reason to pick the Giants to win this game!

The final point I'll make is that I've heard many people say the Patriots are now the NY Yankees of football! The only problem with that argument is that baseball allows the Yankees to outspend EVERY other team in baseball and buy their way to a championship (even though they haven't won in quite some time). Football doesn't allow that! Every team MUST stick to a salary cap and is playing by the same rules, when it comes to free agency. Hate them if you must, but it's not going to make their accomplishment any less remarkable, if they complete their 19-0 season (which I think they will). As someone who has been watching football FOREVER, I NEVER thought ANY team had ANY shot of being undefeated in this era of football! Also, this just in...Tom Brady is just 30 years old, so I suspect the Patriots have one or two more left in them! Most of us Patriots fans want the fifth one, more than anything! Then we can say that Brady has more titles than ANY QB int he history of the league, and Bellichick will have more titles than ANY coach in the history of the NFL! Time to re-name the Lombardi Trophy

If I were Coughlin, I would take this approach - all the hard work is over. They went to Tampa and beat the Bucs. Then they went to Dallas and beat the #1 seed in the NFC. Then they withstood frigid temperatures to beat the #2 seed in Green Bay. All the hard work is done! Now all they have to do is play one game against a team they almost beat a month ago at a neutral site in fairly warm weather. Forget the undefeated stuff, none of that matters right now. It's one game, winner take all. And the Giants are peaking.

That said, I think the Pats will win.

Nobody watches the Pro Bowl! It couldn't be more useless! It's the only sport that has their "all-star game" after the season is already over, so nobody gives a fuck!

It seems like each year there are more and more players who suddenly have injuries and they have to go to the alternate, or the alternate's alternate. Before you know it there are players starting who shouldn't even be in Hawaii.

Yeah, but it's one of the few things MLB does right.

Yeah, I can stomach the MLB all-star game. I don't like the idea of basing home field advantage in the World Series, though, on an all-star game but at least it makes it semi-interesting.
