Dude, the temp was like -5 with an even lower wind chill factor. It's not like he was lacking the effort and he won the damn game besides that. Coughlin was a moron.

Tynes made the third kick tho, didn't he? Must have worked.

Kickers are too dumb to be motivated by coaches.

Moron?
Like NealIsGod said, Couglin looked like the sage motivator on the game-winner.

I hope he was man enough to apologize to the guy after kicking the winning field goal.

Dude...you need to take up basket weaving or pottery! This is the NFL! Vince Lombardi used to get in the face of his best players! He yelled at a kicker for missing a kick he should have made, weather notwithstanding! He didn't get in the guy's face on the second miss, because he knew the snap sucked! Kickers have one fucking job...make the damn kick, when your team puts you in a position to make it! I know this may shock you, but most NFL fans don't want coaches holding hands with their players on the sidelines, and singing "We Are The World"! Hey Enigma................

You won't hear me gloat. I hate that when people pile on after a win where "their team" wasn't even in the game.

I actually felt bad for New England. Those guys are all class, save Moss.

I always hated Randy, too. Apparently though he has a baby-momma here in the city somewhere in some nice gated community with two of his kids and comes into town and plays touch football in the back yard with the neighbors and stuff. Caught me offguard. Doesn't mean I like him, but maybe he isn't 100% asstrash. Just 95%. :P

Hey Dean...

It's definitely not a happy time for Boston fans tonight, but it is just football! The Giants played this game the way they had to play! Their defensive pressure was RELENTLESS! They were going against a VERY good offensive line, and simply outplayed them! At the end of the day, it was still a pretty damn good season for the Patriots. Unfortunately, only one team can be called "champion" at the end of the season, and for this season, that honor rightfully belongs to the New York Football Giants!

I can tell you that I suspect the Patriots will be heard from again. Tom Brady is just 30 years old, and I truly believe he has another title in that arm. We shall see. While I'm waiting for pitchers and catchers to report to Florida, I congratulate Giants fans. I'm just sad that there is NO MORE FOOTBALL, until September! (and no, the Pro Bowl doesn't count)

Amen. I've watched that loser Moss dog it for the past 2 years. It was great on that 3rd and 20 on the last drive, Moss do his very best to catch that ball and watch it fall incomplete!!! :D
Moss is a loser, he had an chance to make a team around him a bit better. But he flat out dogged it any little ding and he was out. Fades in the corner a young Andrew Walter needed him to go up and get. Zero effort.

Yep, all except the head coach, what a jackass he is. Sore loser.

And Antonio Peirce is winning my ingracious winner award for being a gloating dickhead in his postgame interview.

What an ahole, and if I may allow myself a ScarabGator moment here, how about Joe Paterno and Penn State's own (and East Orange, NJ product) Jay Alford getting the game-clinching sack? :P

Yeah and is it still a beauty when you need to stay up til 1035PM to watch the Sox play at SEA or ANA or OAK in MLB? Or the B's go at it in Vancouver or LA? Or the Celtics go at the Warriors? And that's just the start of the game!

There were a couple of bad calls that turned the game...specifically the fumble in the first half, when the Patriots recovered, and the whistle was blown, and yet somehow 10 seconds later the Giants wound up with the ball...but the Giants deserved to win. The Pats made NO adjustments - they should have had Moss and Stallworth in crossing patterns the whole second half instead of going to the sideline (Brady NEVER had enough time). The better team won.

I have no problems with a coach giving a player an ass whipping if they are dogging it or make an extremely boneheaded play. Can you seriously tell me that kicker deserved what he got considering the conditions he was kicking in? Besides that, I'm sure the kicker ALREADY knew he had screwed up without the coach reminding him.

Yes, I can seriously tell you the kicker got what he deserved, based on the fact that he missed the kick! Listen, I've played some football in my life. Kickers have ONE job, and that job is to make kicks! If you're a kicker (which Tynes is), and you get a perfect snap (which Tynes did on the kick you're referring to), and you miss the kick (which Tynes did), your coach should let you hear about it. I can assure you that if I missed a block, my coaches would let me know! As I said...It's football. There are a lot of guys counting on you doing your job, and if you're not doing your job, your coach should boot you in your ass, even if on national tv!

Man, that's tough....But they WILL BE BACK!!!! GREAT JOB GIANTS!!!

How about Michigan State's ( I know STATE) very own Plaxico Burress w/ the game winning touchdown!!!!
& Michigan's own Amani Toomer's catch for 38 yards.

let me say first here (feb4, 2008) that if Brett comes back for 08 season, the Packers will find a way to get defensive help to get back to the NFC championship game, win it and then to super bowl 43 and
let Brett sign off with a superbowl win... ;-) Either that or i would love to see a Manning vs Manning super bowl.

As I said when the spread was first announced...it was FUCKING RIDICULOUS! How the hell anyone watched the last game of the season between these two teams, and came away thinking either team was 12 points better is ABSURD! The Giants led the NFL in sacks during the season, and their defensive line was IMMENSE in the Super Bowl. Even though Eli Manning is getting a ton of credit (and rightfully so, for his last drive), he didn't win that game. That game was won by the Giants D Line, period, end of story! I don't think the Giants winning this Super Bowl was a fluke, and I don't think the Patriots season was a disaster, because they didn't win. One team has to win and one team has to lose. That's sports! Both teams had great seasons, and the Giants just had a bit better of a finish to their season.

Also, from a historical perspective, people should stop talking about it as the greatest upset in Super Bowl history, because it simply isn't! The Jets beating the Colts will forever be number one on that list. The Jets were a SEVENTEEN point underdog in a Super Bowl, which is ASTONISHING! Also, the Patriots were 14 point underdogs to the Rams in the 2001 Super Bowl. I can honestly say that I thought the Rams deserved to be 14 point favorites (I thought they'd win by 4 touchdowns), but this game should have been a touchdown spread, at most!

Obviously, the Giants should have been 3 point favorites.

A guy in my office was in a football pool with 150 people. Not even one person picked the Giants to win.

And their head coach, who's so null and devoid of integrity that his eyes are brown from the dogshit lodged in his skull.

Sorry, I have to deal with this....and the Giants *are* my team, so I guess I can 'pile it on'.

I assume integrity and class dont include cheating?

First off, NE should really have a record of 17-1, because the league should have forced a forfeiture for the Jets game. How much latitude did the league actually give the pats is up for debate, but I'm convinced, knowing what i know now, that Videochick manufactured a handful of wins this past season. Was his team in on it? Maybe, maybe not....and he still had to coach a team through these games. But lets make no mistake Head Coach, Offensive and Defensive coordinators for the Patriots organization are cheaters.

Last night, Cheaters justice was served....as some supposedly historical team was reduced to the modern day equivalent of the 2001 Seattle Mariners. A team that won a whole bunch of games during the regular season, but fell limp dicked when it mattered most.

The Giants took their practices outside of Phoenix this past week, to a closed facility, preventing Videochick from getting pre-game intel on how the Giants intended to go after his team.

Then....All of a sudden, this seemingly unstoppable jaugernaut Patriots team looked like an average, quite beatable football team.

Coincidence? I don't know...

However, I sincerely hope that next season the rest of the NFL takes a cue from the Giants and puts a little more emphasis on strategic security...I'd be willing to bet that what you will see next year, is an above average NE football team that's just damn lucky to be in a division with the Bills, Jets and Dolphins.

Except every coach asked about it (Jimmy Johnson, Bill Cowher, Barry Switzer) all said that EVERY team in the NFL films EXACTLY the same stuff...only the Pats were the first team to get "caught". The videotape was destroyed because it showed a film crew member of the Jets on the exact opposite of the field doing EXACTLY the SAME THING. If word had gotten out that the whole league was "cheating" (even though the exact same sideline can be shot legally from 50 feet further back) there would have been a hellstorm. Goodell buried it before it ruined his product.

You must be from Boston... How is it that the Giants completely change their practice schedule and location last week and Billichick's seemingly prophetic ability to be able to counter the other team's moves is, well, no longer there. The Patriots looked like an average football team last night....hardly the 19-0 jaugernaut the fraudulant organization wants you to believe.

The fact of the matter is that Billichick was forced to play a game last night without inapropriately gathered intel and he lost, stormed off the field like a cry baby bitch and left his team on the field to mop up his mess.

He's an integrityles piece of shit...cheaters justice happened last night.....a real leader stays on the field and sees the game through. When you're without morals, however, it's easy to pick up your ball and storm home because your cheating didn't help you win.

a lot of rights were wronged last night....and Boston sports fans can go back to slicing their wrists.

It's just a football game...I don't take it that seriously.

The Pats hadn't dominated anyone for two months because the league figured out how to beat them...run the ball, slow the game down, make big plays. Even last night, the Giants only won because of a catch a guy makes once in a hundred times...they were lucky.

Strangegrey...

Let me preface my comments by saying that I like you, and I think you're a good dude (especially for a New Yorker)! That said, some of your comments are just way the fuck out there! Listen, I understand why people don't like Bellichick. The guy isn't a likeable guy, and was hated by most, LONG before any "Spygate" allegations came up!

Your premise about the Patriots losing because Bellichick couldn't film the Giants practices is just moronic! Even the most ardent Bellichick hater on the planet hasn't accused the guy of filming anything, since the Jets game! You're also not giving enough credit to the Giants, by suggesting they won the game, because Bellichick didn't have a videotape of their coaches signals! The Giants won the game, because their defensive line completely DOMINATED the line of scrimmage! It's the best game I saw out of a defensive line in ANY Super Bowl, I've ever watched! It's really not that much more complicated than that. The Patriots played the Ravens early in the season and looked below "average" against a HORRIBLE team that night and did the same against the Eagles! It's football, dude! Teams don't always have their "A" game, and sometimes when they don't have their "A" game, you need to credit the other team's defense and coaching staff!

As for your comment about Boston sports fans who "can go back to slicing their wrists"...It just makes you look every bit as classless as you've accused Bellichick of being! I get the whole NY/Boston thing, better than most! We're two cities who simply don't like each other, and never will! I'm okay with that, and actually enjoy it. Just don't let one championship go to your head, dude! I'm pretty sure if you look over the past 10 years, your city still has a LONG way to go to catch up to the rings we have in Boston! This wasn't our year, but I promise you that the Patriots will be heard from again!

Cmon, the jets won their division that year and the colts we not undefeated. The giants didnt even win their division this year and comebck to win against a 17-0 team, this will be talked about for 50 yrs or more as the worst upset in the NFL (unless the patriots can out do themselves again in years to come). The giants beating Dallas was a huge upset ,this was a tremendous upset, either way you look at it a new york team has created the biggest upset in superbowl history

That's the best part, for me. The Pats didn't lose this game, the Giants just flat out won it.
They stopped the unstoppable Pats offensive and Eli was phenomenal.
And don't get me started on that catch by Tyree! That play between him and Eli was like something from a movie, lol

Just a great game (sorry John from Boston ).

We can agree to disagree. To me, "biggest upset" means which team was favored the most to win a game by the most points. As Super Bowls go, last night's game was only the third largest in the history of the game, so will never be the biggest upset in my mind. The reality is that if the Patriots weren't undefeated going into that game, there is NO way the spread would have been anywhere near 12 points, because it simply wasn't warranted. The Giants are a VERY good team, who proved they can play defense with the best of them!

John, Bilichick is a classless piece of shit. Boston fans excuse his classless actions because he's brought the city some wins. I can understand that. People like him for the winning, despite the way he goes about doing it.

The guy's got integrity issues.

He was thrown off his comfort cloud last night by a team that was extremely well prepared against him. He didn't have his usual stack of pre-game intel that he's accustomed with...and he stormed off the field like a crybaby, leaving his shocked players to mop up his mess.

That's not a leader, dude.

....

moving onto cheating. He's a cheater...his offensive and defensive coordinators are cheaters too. Mark my words, next year, you're going to see the entire league be extremely careful when playing a team that Bilichick coaches.....and you will see NE reduced to an above average team happily entrenched in a division with the Jets, Bills and Dolphins. Hell, *I'd* like that kind of 'competition' too.

.....

As far as the Boston sports fans comments. Dude, grow some skin....because the fact of the matter is I hear far worse from Massholes all over the place on a CONSTANT basis. There's a bit of "you can dish it out but can't take it" here.

Do you remember the Red Sox/Yankees story I told you few weeks ago, regarding my friend in Disney World. Low and Behold, I got the same fucking shit down in Disney World with my own family, 2 weeks ago. I'm walking around with a Giants Jersey and I'm getting fucking massholes left and right accosting me....screaming from across crowds of people that their team is the best team in the world, that the Giant's suck, blah, The patriots are going to beat them, blah blah blah.

I'm enjoying Disney with my family and have to be on the receiving end of this shit?

What the fuck is it with Disney and Massholes?

So...really.....cheaters justice was served. The universe was put back in order....Boston got their asses kicked by a New York team...in a HISTORIC way.

And the Patriots were reduced to the 2001 Seattle Mariners. A team that won a bunch of games during the regular season and went limp dicked when it mattered.

BTW, this was a HISTORIC upset...

they arent the greatest team that ever played the game, as every one of those prickfuck massholes down in disney tried to rub in my face....

In fact, 13-6 with a superbowl title

trumps

18-1 with a crybaby cheater coach and no superbowl title.
