If you could also meet the band during soundcheck, I guess it wouldn't really matter. Might be nicer to do that than bother them after the show. All I know is that it looked like the VIP fans were being very well treated that night. Maybe if not enough people request passes to a show, they will give both.

Their M&G was great. I was expecting it to be the usual cattle line up process with the band sitting at a table  but it wasn't. There was about 20 people waiting upstairs and each band member came out and just started chatting it up with fans. Once they got done signing stuff and photos with a few people, they'd move on to the next few. There was a time limit though. I didn't get Whip's autograph or photo because the bus was fixing to leave without him. LOL I think they had a show in New Orleans the next night, so they had quite a drive.

I couldnt believe how short all the guys were. They had to be no taller than 5'7 or 5'8. I felt tall..

They're the perfect height for me. LOL! Looking at my pic with Geoff, he's definitely the tallest. I'm 5'4" and he looks to be about 5'8"...5'9" at the most.

Yeah he did. When he said how people tell him all the time, "I can't believe how small you are"...the door was wide open, but I was a good girl.

I defy ANYONE to tell me the 'Ryche aren't all demi-gods. They laid the framework for every single European hard rock / melodic metal band out there.

Tate is unreal. The show with Dream Theater a few years back was mindcryme-blowing. Wow.

Alright Rip, I just finished listening to Empires. I'm hooked on "Best I Can" at this point, and of course "Jet City Woman" which I've known about for a long time.

It's a very good album - sounds almost ahead of its time.

Awesome songs on there -- I love every single one of them, and amazingly, the title track became one of my lesser faves from that album. "Della Brown" is a great song, too! Be sure to catch that one unplugged when you can... Other faves are "Hand On Heart" and "Anybody Listening?" Great album...

empire is queensryche very best release.almost every song on this is good.i never cared for the ballad 'silent lucidity' but it was a huge hit back in '90 but everything else on there was pretty good.

In Dallas, 3 people competed to sing "The Machine" (Pink Floyd cover) w/Queensryche, and we all thought the 2nd guy was the best of all -- he even sounded like Geoff Tate (but looked like Bo Bice... haha!). For some reason, they picked the third guy, who was bald and had a longgg goat beard. He got the most applause, but he was also apparently from a local band, so he must have been better known by people in the audience. Either way, he looked to be having a blast with the band when he played.

Mikemarrs -- I also love "Empire", but for me, I thought it was just a little too much more commercial than "Operation Mindcrime", so as much as I love "Empire", it's not my top. I honestly can't really rank them, because they are all so different, I love them all for different reasons.

By the way, what the heck does this thread have to do with Dokken? Can we please get back on topic? J/K !!!

All the performances are uploaded on Ryche's web site. There is a Youtube, but the quality is better here.

Love, love, love "Empire" but hate, hate, hate Silent Lucidity. From anyone else, on any other album, I probably would have liked it, but it just seemed to mellow and ballad-y for Queensryche for me. It's their more powerful, passionate, harder edged songs that blow me away. 8)
