OK.....I have to say that tiny little SP quote has me stumped. If you add this to the little 'tid'bit' from Lora a few weeks ago. Reliable tid-bit and a for real Steve quote....HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

My question is who really knows what DEMOS mean??? Is the album...sorry CD (age thing...lol) already done, and he's shopping around "demos" - as defined by the industry - looking for a label/backer? Or has he, as the author wrote: ..."Perry, who’s finally started working on his first album of new material since leaving Journey...." just starting the process of recording/writing the material and has a few demos done for a select and trusted few to have a listen and render an opinion? And when exactly is "FINALLY STARTED"???????....yesterday, last month, last year?....boggles the mind.

As for me....I been a Perry-Puddle maker and forever "LOON" for 33 yrs. A bit more time "in waiting" is just part of being a Steve Perry fan. As long as the man is happy and healthy, I'm delighted in my 'PerryLoon' world.

Guess we will just have see what happens as we "Faithfully - Don't Stop Believin'"......

I don't think they have anywhere near the momentum they had with the BTM with Arrival.

They have exponentially more now. Arrival had no promotion or marketing, let alone an outlet like Wal Mart and publicity like The Ellen Show.

Oh, please. This album has barely more then imaginary 'publicity'.

Arrival had:
Sony releasing singles to radio
Videos on VH1/VH1 Classic
The BTM
The Direct TV concert
The DVD
A few TV appearences, including crappy ones like the goofy dating show.
A couple tours prior to the release.
The advantage of being the first CD after Perry fucked up the band for a second time.

All this CD has is a couple songs getting a tiny bit of airplay...which Arrival also had.

The Wal-Mart deal may actualy be a disadvantage since people won't be able to walk into Best Buy, or anywhere else, and buy a copy.

There was so much more excitement with fans for Arrival then there has been for this CD/DVD/remake release. People seem more interested in talking politics on this forum the Revelation. We'll see how it turns out in a few months...but I really don't see this release doing as 'well' as Arrival...and I don't think it would matter who was singing. I doubt it will even sell 100,000 units in the US.

Whaaat?! Don't tell that to the 2.5M Filipinos living in the US.

You might be one crazy mofo. But I like your style Monker. 100% correct! Arrival has alot of hype, we all lived through it and can remember it, it was HUGE! talked about everywhere, since it was Journey's new album since 1996 and the departure of Perry, it was a really exiting time for Journey and their career, there was more money involved and ofcourse Sony music, it doesn't get any bigger than that.

I think Steve has always record stuff. That doesn't mean we'll ever hear it. But I do hope Steve does put something out because I will buy it. As for touring. He doesn't have to. All he has to do is give concerts in one place and we'll all go to see him. He doesn't have to go on the road.

Thoughts....

Yes, I do believe Perry will release new music within the next 18 months....

No, I don't think he will tour to support the release, but he may do promotional appearances....

As far as Arrival versus Revelation...Well, Wal Mart is the largest music retailer in the world, so I don't think the fact it's "only" being released through them will be a detriment to people buying the record. Plus Arrival was leaked on the internet months before its release. Also, I don't think the 2.5 million Fillipinos living in America will have any impact on the sales figures of Revelation. I think that's a broad generalization, and I think most Fillipinos here in America have no more interest in Journey than the average person stopped on the street.

I dont honestly think SP would have ANY problems finding a label/distributer. and i had a good laugh at Perry Puddle Maker 8) ....and not hijacking or anything, It pleases me greatly that Neal has sobered up. :)

Did the journalist send Steve Perry a copy of what Neal Schon said...just wondered 'cause he used the same phrases in his response.

I never thought the "don't feel a part of the band" remark was so far out there myself. After reading various things on the internet, it was pretty obvious that the other guys in Journey didn't think the band needed SP or anyone else added to the band. It seems they were happy with the music they were playing at the time and had a "cult" following. Herbie seems to have forced SP down the other guys' throat...not a wise move if true...and not a very nice thing to do to Robert F.

I heard Journey before Robert F. or Steve Perry and I didn't care for the sound and was hooked after I heard SP's voice.Journey can carry on as they wish, I won't fork out money for anything.

I'm not a loon 'cause another site cured me of that...I no longer think SP stands for "Special Person". However, I would be interested in hearing some new music from SP...don't think I'd risk a speeding ticket to buy the CD though. SP, apparently, has been thinking about it for a couple of years...didn't he say he was working with a coach months ago? He's just one of the slowest people on Earth when doing things.

Yeah, seems like the author called Perry's people and said "I'll tell you what Neal said about you in return for a 60-second interview."

Pay attention, Drew. Maybe you can get that elusive interview someday. :)

I wasn't there but it seems to me that there was a lot more than that going on with that interview then a reporter just relaying messages between the two.

Other way around. Cherubim are 2nd in the heirarchy.

Do I know this from twelve years of catholic school? No.
They never even mentioned it.
I know it from an Anne Rice novel. ROFL!!!

I just re-read all the interview and hope Arnel P. makes it big...hope he has all the girls drooling, etc. 'cause he's a cute 40 year old. LOL Hope he has much solo success someday, too.

No, I don't think the journalist was a go-between for NS and SP. The thrust of the interview was "poor boy makes it to his dream" and "renewal of a band", or something like that. Just wondered about whether SP had read a preview of NS's quotes 'cause he used the same phrases...unless he has a reputation of "bitchin' and moanin' ".

Also, don't think SP is God or any sort of angel myself. After listening to the uncut Elmo thingie last week, I think he's something of a perv. After all, isn't Elmo a children's toy? :P

I didn't interpret it as anyone being a go-between, either, but it did seem very much like Neal's quote was presented...

But I mean, that's normal - "So and so said this.... do you have any comment?" Its neither uncommon, nor a big deal that he would be asked about it and reply using the same terms that were presented to him, IF that's what went on.

Two years? IF true, he's been building for this for upwards of 12 years. Minimum 7 years. Steve Perry is the only person in the music business that makes Tom Scholtz look like a workaholic.

No...
IF true, you are right that he hasn't done anything but
"talk about recording again" or "think about singing again"
for the past 12 years.

But I think, and this is just my summation from things I've
heard and read, that he has really started getting himself
back in shape, mentally, physically and vocally, within the past 2 years
to no-shit do something in the studio.

No, he had to train "physically" and lose some weight
cuz he was tired of fans running up to him and saying,
"I fucking LOVED you in Goodfellas, Mr. Pesci!!!"

Getting in shape "Vocally", well, that's a given.

Getting in shape "Mentally" means he's had to mentally prepare himself
for all the shit he is gonna get from all the members of Arnel Pineda's Pinada Army
when they start spouting off on how Arnel can sing all those 80's-Perry notes
while Perry can't anymore
