Well, the problem is, there's only 1 Democrat in the Top 40. That's the whole point.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night

There are 535 Congressmen and Senators and 1 President. What about the other 496?


Dude, there are only 100 Senators - 49 of them Republican. If 39 of the top 40 are Republicans - which means there are only 60 other Senators in all - that's all that needs to be said.

The industry is obviously hedging their bets...80% to 20%. Even more telling is the overall percentage that these contributions make up. Obama is raking in the cash through his website in what amounts to modern grass roots support. Be honest...which candidate really needs support from big oil?
