Damn! I love those songs.

Marie, are you a Dallas girl or a Houston girl?

San Antonio. About the same distance to Dallas or Houston. Texas still in your forecast?

Tortament? Is that some new law terminology? What the Hell dude, you make no sense whatsoever.

And to be fair to the Queen of Journey, Mrs Joan Cain-Friga, it wasn't her idea to play that show, it was Neal's. Frig popped open some Pilgrim books and a couple encyclopedias and copied a few gay Quaker words and Puritan references and called it good. In Soto's defense, he had nothing to do with the writing on this shit song. Like some said, he just had to make it listenable. I am surprised Friga couldn't work in the words, "saving grace yet again."

Mrs Big fan wrote:I hate that that was the first original Journey song they gave to JSS to sing.

Me too. Poor JSS looked up in the air and saw Friga and Schon's shit cascading down on him. he never had a chance.

 OMG this song is terrible - the lyrics sound like a 6th grade history report for Thanksgiving. I was under
the (evidently false) impression that this was the first song JSS wrote with the band and when Neal heard it, he
decided it didn't sound like Journey (no kidding) and that they couldn't move forward as Journey because of it.
But if JSS had nothing to do with the writing of this song, that it was lacking the "Journey sound" had nothing to
do with him. His vocals are the only thing that made listening to most of it bearable. I don't think Steve Perry
could have saved this song and he could sing the phone book and make it sound good.

I read some of those shitty comments, and while I have no doubt that most of them probably were from overzealous Pineda fans I think there were also comments from others trying to make Arnel's fans look bad.

Great. My office is on Orange Avenue. The Social is right down the street a few blocks. I'll tell my office. I'm sure a lot of the girls would want to come. They're music lovers.

Jana, from 1995-1998 I worked on S.Orange Av, down towards Sand Lake Rd in the Pine Castle area. You work a little further north than I did but back in those days Orange Av around Church Street was hopping!!!!

My building is on the corner of Church Street, SG. You're right back then it was the place to be. 98 I was in Atlanta, but since I moved back here downtown Orlando has slowly become more like Mid Town in Atlanta, really cool restaurants and bars and a lot of condo living downtown now. Church Street had a developer working on reviving Church Street Station and Lou Perlman was part of the efforts on Church Street. Lou is in jail and the developer is in all kinds of trouble after overextending during the building boom in Florida and having to liquidate many properties he owns. So Church Street is on hold.

Confirmed. It was a Cain song written especially for the one-off event and JSS just sang. The demo was done just so everyone could learn their parts for the gig.

Jana, do you remember when "Terror on Church Street" was at the corner of Orange and Church St??? It was a year round haunted house that was regarded as the best in the country??? I went to that like 40 times in 3 years. It was awesome! It was in the old Woolworths building they tore down a couple years ago and built a new high rise...

Oh, definitely, everyone knew about Terror on Church Street. I can remember the long lines to get in. But 40 times? Sorry, I'll pass on that many. Our office is in one of the towers of the highrise that replaced Woolworths. Small world.

I LIVE in Virginia, went to this event (which, BTW, was held in Leesburg, outside of DC, which is NO WHERE NEAR Jamestown), and had just been to Jamestown for a field trip with my daughter a week or two before the show. I was very disappointed in the song. I think there were certainly ways to make a more commercially acceptable song using the concepts of 'winds of freedom' without giving us a history lesson.

There was nothing else AT ALL that entire day that really reflected anything having to do with Virginia's anniversary. Hell, I don't think any of the 'VIPs' that were invited even bothered to show up.

Bottom line, the song sucked. Jeff's performance was the only thing that even came close to saving it.

I thought the song was "eh" but Jeff made it sound decent. I got a pretty good video of it from the polo thing but am not sure how a file that big can be uploaded to youtube.

Someone did it for me awhile ago (I forgot who) but they took it down apparently.
