Done. No more votes required. While I'm still undecided about the JTTC event I will certainly be at the Doubletree and the 7th Heaven show.

A gaggle of your favorite gals in party frocks, open bar, excellent food, live music, tax deduction for a super cause, in your hometown ... what the hell is there to decide? 8)

Whether I'm mature enough to attend said event.

Oh, that.

Mimi will keep you in line if it becomes necessary ... she's practicing her death ray stare on unruly band kids right now, in fact.

People aren't just one thing, Dano; shit happens and we move on. JTTC was outstanding last year; you really shouldn't miss out on this year.

Oh stop being a silly ass. A bunch of us live here and will happily fetch you at the airport and shuttle you off to the hotel and into the care of Fu and Deb. Or meet them at O'Hare.... There's a million answers. Make it so. 8) Not another peep. Bjg has spoken.

If I may make one small request of your temporary Schaumburgians, Fridays are madness for me and the traffic (though only about 12 miles) from my office to the Woodfield area on a Fri evening takes a good 45 minutes, so can we have a starting time of 7:30ish? I don't know if I'll tag along to Barleycorn or not, if I did I'd only end up hiding from the massive hoard of Trixies and d'bags that all John Barleycorns attract like moths to a flame and finding my way to the couch in the backstage room and taking a nap (no lie, I'm turning 80 on the 23rd this month, and that couch is damn comfortable), but I'm in on the pre-festiveness at the DoubleTree. :D

JB's does have some outrageously good noshing if anyone wants to have a group meal beforehand... there's also an Uno's, Chevy's, Weber, and Red Robin in eyeshot. There's California Pizza, Houlihan's, Fuddrucker's, PF Changs, Big Bowl (PF Changsish with more curries), and Red Lobster just a little further beyond those. If you guys want to do this, let's have a head count by next Thursday and I'll make the reservations. :)

Trixies meet the Chicas ... this should be good.

Kinda like the rent-a-hoochie incident at the Grand Prairie Generations show, I expect.

7:30 sounds like a plan to me & eating at the bar would probably be easier than trying to go another place.

...plus about a zillion other places!

I'll be out in that area after work getting my nails done for the big event, so if everyone is meeting at the hotel, I'm not even going to bother coming back to the city after work.

Except these are suburban Trixies. Imagine sorority girls who think the world owes them something because the only post UofI employment they could find was at the Career Ed building in Hoffman instead of some flashy advertising firm downtown and they're bitter about having to split a condo in Arlington Heights instead of having a posh studio in Lincoln Park with the rest of their kind. You'll recognize them by their over-Chi'd hair, black VW Jettas, and cash-poor fiscal irresponsibility. :P

Fab. I'll still need a head count for reservations though. This place gets packed out the door 50 deep by 7.

Sounds like some of the broads I went to school with. Sadly, graduating with a C average and having no ambition does not entitle you to anything, you actually have to work... I know some of them are having a rough time with that right now.

I work with one (for the moment), they're nice girls you know... it's just the whole "no ambition I'm only working until I get married to someone who will support me like my Daddy does I'm late on my rent but look at my new Coach bag" no-individuality mentality that bugs me. And when you get a whole group of them together in a social scene it's just damn annoying. Too much competition to snag the guy wearing the most Ed Hardy swag. The chain of Chicago bars called John Barleycorn (Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, and Schaumburg) seem to be their homing beacon.
