Let the boy sing. You know he hates this half note shit as much as everyone else does.

I agree, they should let him sing. I think its more of a weather issue when he has problems with his voice, not the songs.

I've got a couple versions of it where Steve doesn't quite sing it so perfectly. The long extended high note 'FAAALL' is quite flat and about 6 notes lower than he intended. lol

I know you, now don't i 'K'.
It's ok folks 'K' sits on ALL sides of the fence.
He gets a little over excited sometimes.

I get such a laugh. Last year lots of people on here ripped Neal for not tuning down with this catalogue and burning out his singers and his stubborness, and he does it, and that's not good enough. Arnel is 41. From the concerts Dr. Fu and the concert Maui Tom saw they said they sounded great. Audiences sure aren't complaining or noticing. So get over it already. It's the way it is. Of course, for the naysayers, no matter what you say Journey or Arnel should do, it will never be good enough, b/c you want them to fail or do bad and will move on to the next thing to criticize and never compliment any great performances. So transparent.

Well, if this gets you laughing then hang on because we ain't going nowhere soon. Plenty more concerts this summer to analyze and dissect.

I'm glad someone is enjoying our attempt at mixing humor with benign denigration.

I don't qualify right now. I've put them on the backburner and pulled out every TFF CD I own, which they have seven, and their very eclectic B side album SM&L, and their 3 disk Greatest Hits which includes covers, and experimental music solo for Roland - Tomcats Screaming Outside. I have no name for myself for that, but every album is completely different style of music, so I'm enjoying it. Maybe I should leave here and join my own kind, those who think Roland is brilliant.

Gunbot, he WAS beautiful, especially the '96 Raoul Kings of Spain tour. When he came back in 2004 he had aged for sure, but that picture is not indicative of how he really looks. The one weird bad photo of him, and, of course, you will search for it and post it. I never lose faith in you.

I just pulled that from the cover of Rolling Stone. I always thought he looked ugly from the first time I saw him. I Him and Perry are probably in the top 10 when it comes to fugly superstars, IMO.

Talent is a different story though and that I believe both of them have, in spades.

Uh-oh.

Now, of course you know, ror92, this is going to set off a storm of Loons rushing in to Stevies defense. I'll just start the quibbling by saying I'm not quite sure that last blast was a full 6 notes lower.

He didnt miss it as such - he just didnt go for it - quite wise really - anyone remember Simon Le Bon at live aid????????????????????

That's what I was saying. If he NEVER hit it live is one thing, but he did it perfectly on other parts of the tour as the link I supplied earlier shows. it wasn't a case of studio magic that couldn't be replicated live. They did 120 shows that year. Obviously he had to throttle down at the end of the tour and pick his spots.
Arnel did the same last year when I saw him the last week of September. He sheered notes and clipped horribly on the high side but it was understandable after 65 shows. It was a natural thing to expect after that many concerts.

Yes, that pic is him in the mid '90s. Beautiful in an offbeat way. I don't like pretty boys.

And the video you linked has a collage of videos of him mostly from the mid to late '90s, and a few now, which he still looks good for a man in his late forties, and then a couple in the '80s. Now, that video is more indicative of what he looks like, which was fan-tas-tic.
