Re: "If I Fall"

Not just the guitar. This, like The Storm and Giuffria is Perryesque.

What it shows (and maybe its the intention?) is had the Jboyzz continued with Soto, it could've been a stellar next few albums.

This is a great tune btw. Headed for current fave as we speak.

Agreed!!!

I like W.E.T. and have said as much more than once. My critique was a legitimate one. Why are you not touring in support of what many, including yourself (I think you said that), believe to be your best total body of work? Did the TSO thing suddenly pop up and you simply can't pass it up, could you not delay the release of the album, is there too much technical wizardry on the album to pull off live? Why would you release your best work and not promote it? I could sit back here and massage your balls like everyone else and tell you you're the greatest thing since the pocket pussy, but I'd like to think that my questions and critiques will help you a lot more than a bunch of zealots that don't ask tough questions.

Hey Dan! Hope you are having a good day! You are! Great! Now, Dan you’re good looking, you’re tall and you’ve got a hairy ass…I saw the pix, shave that bitch you punk!

Seriously, I don’t think I am one of those who trashes Journey, I just make stupid videos about poor Perry. You know that, right? Okay, first, I enjoy the repartee you and the artists have here, it is entertaining. But, I have no idea if you are writing each other for fun, or for the amusement of people online here. If you are being serious then I have to defend myself as an alleged “ball massager,” of the artists whose work I enjoy.

Second, and I know you know this, there are lots of variables to an artists’ business reasoning, I am learning about that every day. I think supply and demand play a huge part. I also think artists who enjoy what they do rather than do what is expected of them, have to go where the work is. It is frustrating watching American artists not perform in their own country and be embraced in the bosom of their fans, but, people have bills to pay and lives to live and some of us respect that.

Last, just because some of us do not critique artists’ work does not mean we merely massage their balls, we have opinions. My thing is, an artists’ job is done, record is pressed, it is bought and paid for and I listen to it. Some songs I like, others I don’t, so what? I am not knocking how you respond to artists, but in my big-brown- tits- that-fracture- my- toes- every time-I-take- off- my- bra opinion, whether or not artists can tour or not tour or play the music you want to hear, hey things do not always work out the way anyone wants. My thing is, as long as the artist is working and happy, good for them. I am a frustrated writer trying to get any gig I can at MY AGE, it is hard as hell!

Having that photo on your resume probably would help get a job writing for a sitcom or SNL.

What it shows is maybe they should hire Sail and Martensson to help write some songs for their next CD.

This is from a great review that gave the album high marks, but mentioned this: "They only lose the mark with their obvious reference points - include the riff nick of “Gimme All Your Love” of Whitesnake with the main parts of “Just Go” (even down to the Sykes-like lead work). Will keep all the staunch Soto fans smiling and I’m hoping this will be more than a one-off studio project."

I think I lost my desktop. Oh well. And I lost my train of thought in the last post, happens. Well, that's an interesting review. Did you mention where it came from? I wonder, are the reviews here in the states? I'm not sure where to go to find them.

The intro to IIF (before the guitar kicks in) sounds a lot like the intro to this:

Thanks. Shuffle playing and headphones will do that. I'll think one song's starting and its something else. Fortunately its not enough to get Bono riled up. The guitar kicks in and takes it in a new direction.

There's a couple of songs on the album that have me humming other songs. Opening number is the riff to Ozzy's Shot in the Dark and there's another one that makes me think of Don't Stand So Close to Me by the Police.
