Yes, you are. They (Deano and FU) are claiming any bar would be full on St. Pats Day. So, if the bar is full anyway, why pay and expensive act to play there. Why cut into your profit. You book someone when you trying to draw people. If you are ALREADY drawing people why pay some to perform.

Go back to work. You have brought a pea shooter to a gun fight. You certainly try, but can't spin like Dan. Call him for advice dude.

According to your logic here Einstien, the lesson here is never book Neal Schon if you want a decent crowd.

Are you that stupid? If your bar is going to be packed anyway, why would you pay for someone to play? Example, if that bar was going to make $25k that night without any entertainment, why would you pay someone $10k and only make $15k instead of the full $25k. You would bring Neal in to draw a decent crown on an off night.

Oh ok, I misread. The reason Neal isn't playing is because it's St Patty's Day. Gotcha. Dipshit. I suppose the promoter didn't see the fucking words "St Patricks Day" on the fuckin calendar when he booked the goddamned show? Nice spin dude, but you just look like a complete ass here.

Can't we just focus on Soto bailing out on Andrew and leaving about 20-30 Euros whistling in the wind? Schon's latest bar touring band is just that ... the type of band you go see if they're in the area. They're like Soul Sirkus ... and outlet for Neal to get out on the road, play some smaller venues and play the type of music Journey simply won't allow. And I still can't see why Soto can't fly in on Sunday, perform and leave Monday morning. I think the reason is that the W.E.T. music can't be performed live. How do you layer all of those fucking instruments and vocals live? You can't.

Dean, Soul Sirkus wasn't going anywhere! They were fucking awful. Complete circular dog shit. Some of the most uninspired music in history. Their lyrics were that of a pimply-faced teeange boy that had a porn surfing problem.

1. Why? this is a Neal Schon thread, as much as you want to spin it towards Soto.

2. He can't just fly in Sunday as he will be performing withh TSO on the Sunday in Dallas at 7:30......so that could be pretty difficult to be in two places at once?

What is the problem? They misjudged. The gigs weren't selling so they cancelled or got cancelled early on for a small venue, to begin with. They will play more of them locally and have some fun and see how it goes.

Thanks for stepping into that trap! He should have alluded to this possibility when it was announced that he'd be at MR Fest II and people booked flights from Europe! And I can't understand how someone can go from totally left out to a "prominent role" just 3 weeks before the tour begins. A lot of people have been fucked over and everyone's putting blindfolds on. If this were Journey there would be 9 threads about it, the place would be on fire and Dean would have a blog.

Seems a little difficult to be two places at once. Too bad, it would have been exciting for everybody to see W.E.T.

But I do agree with SJ on one point. SoulSirkUS was average. It sure wasn't Hardline, Neal's best side band project.

That's YOUR opinion. There are many on here, besides myself, who thought SS was a powerful machine. I'd much rather see them in a 2000 seat place then Journey play the same old fuckin set in front of the usual 4000. It's a matter of opinion. Tell you what. Next time you see Schon, ask him if he thought SS sucked. He loved that band, and it definitely had promise. How else you explain Azoff putting the brakes on it as to not get too much momentum and make Schon too happy and to become less interested in Journey? Before you laugh, I can tell you Schon was definitely not happy being in Journey during the last three Augeri years. If you think so, I have a supermodel neighbour you can screw. I'll take World Play over any of the last three four Journey efforts, easily. The lyrics were immature sure, but so what? They were a rock band. If it was so bad, how come Deen was so easy to get to play on it too? I'll take Soto, Mendoza over Augeri and Valory any fucking day. No contest.

Deb was right, nice attempt at steering the blame, this thread, away from the most deserving guy, Schon. Just play the fucking dates! Be a goddamned professional.

Also, as to the WET comment..Dude, I am sure they can play their shit live. They are mega talented. And to your "Europeans flying in" smack, who the fuck you know flying in from Europe? Also, Drew offered the FULL fucking refund to anyone upset about the exclusion of WET. That says something.

One more thing- I agree, Soto and band should perform. Hell, it's a 2 hour door to door trip from Dallas to Chicago. Schedule WET on the Saturday, or earlier Sunday. That's what airplanes are for.

Yet there was nary a peep when they disbanded.

Keep dreaming! They would have never cracked one thousand!

I saw them 3 times in 2008 with 20,000 or more. And don't give me the Heart and Cheap Trick excuse either! Those guys play for FREE in Chicago!

Rockindeano wrote:How else you explain Azoff putting the brakes on it as to not get too much momentum and make Schon too happy and to become less interested in Journey?

This is just plain silly. That group was nothing more than a good traveling bar band with not one recognizable name, and music that could make Helen Keller cringe.

Gee ... thanks for that monumental revelation.

Four guys with virtually no relevance in the music world. Tell you what, Dean ... you can have them all!

It'll never happen ... and if it does it'll sound like S.H.I.T.

Huh? Seriously Dan, what are you getting out of this? You're not even a fan? I'm probably one of his biggest fans here and I don't feel fucked over? :? Shit happens. I'm dealing.....on second thought, hand me that butter knife will ya? I definitely don't begrudge him TSO.....heck, I know at least I'll be able to see him perform at least once a year and it brings him right to my backyard instead of me travelling. :) Sure, I'm sad, would love to have seen WET live, but at least it was announced early enough that plans can be changed if need be. Which will probably be the case for me, as the person I was going with was ONLY going to see WET. And I pretty much said from the start, as much as I would LOVE to see all you crazy buggers, and would LOVE to support Andrew (still will somehow even if I don't go) I couldn't really justify the huge cost if JSS and/or EM weren't performing. Sorry to tell ya Danny boy, that he'd have to f*ck up pretty fiercely to lose this fan, IMO there is just way too many positives to being a JSS fan. :D

Well, it's looking like maybe Neal couldn't sell without Journey. Nice try Neal. Now maybe you'll go back to the drawing board and quckly book some tour dates for 2010. Hope you learned your lesson......nobody comes to see just you, dumbass. They come to see Journey. Looks like your ego is writing checks you can't cash without the band.

Then you better hand over some of that pimple cream to SS female fans like myself, Crazydeb, Cyndy, etc, etc. Sometimes your just in the mood to rock out to some good ol dirty rock, I love great hard driving bass music (ahem: Mendoza, Sheehan, Sarzo :) )........so run along and listen to your remastered disco version of Paula Abdul's Straight Up, I wouldn't expect YOU to like it. :P

Not like Neal, when it comes to performing. I'll bet Assoff had something to do with it.

Nah. I can see Assoff stopping Soul Sirkus because they actually had some momentum. But this band? Why Irv care? And if so, what's keeping Schon signed with this douche? I told him once, "Azoff is an asshole.' And Schon replied, "yeah, but he does a lot of good shit too." Like what? Scheme up Lip syncing plans? Draw up REO and Journey tours? Come on!

I agree Deano! He hasn't done jack for that band. They need to dump his sorry ass!

I find it awfully peculiar, that good ole Neal Schon, a man of substance, will cancel a Denver bar date, when ticket sales are low, allegedly, but won't cancel a Journey tour, when his lead singer can't sing. I find it manly to go to a tape recorder, instead of doing rock n roll right, and either going live, or canceling. It's all about the Benjamins huh Neal? And you wonder why the RNR HOF doesn't want you? Jesus Christ, who would? You pissed in rock's face, made a mockery of the music. Wonder what rock greats think?..I wonder if other rock greats mock you, make fun of you or even give you the time of day? I wonder if Mick Jagger laughs at you and Journey? I wonder if Bruce is just shaking his head at you guys? I wonder if Queen is laughing hysterically at you and your band? Doesn't it sting, just a bit? I mean, dude, you are a tremendous talent, but that doesn't give you a license to crap on rock and roll. Augeri is one thing...he was never a serious player, but you are Neal Schon..a great axe man...Good grief! What's next? You'll stop at nothing.

Something to think about.
