Maybe he should consider moving to Vegas in a couple years.

Just a bit of trivia but Journey (including solo Perry) is annually in the top 10 for artist spins on A/C radio and classic rock radio ((the classics, obviously). That's a lot of coin for NS, SP and JC.

If this new album doesn't get radio play, having 0, 5 or 10 writing credits isn't going to mean very much.

But of course. Them taking the whole year off gives us lots of time to speculate and talk out of our collective asses. :D

Schon was the one saying they had enough hits, they were tired of being on A/C radio and were looking forward to writing non radio friendly songs that let them be more creative. The only speculation here is if Neal is talking out of his ass again.

A/C radio has been pretty accommodating to Journey, and for that matter, REO and Foreigner also. All three groups ended up with two A/C hits off of their last albums. I'll be curious to see if Foreigner goes for the hat trick and releases "I'll Be Home Tonight".

He could stop that anytime he wants, if he would just get the fuck out of that place, and away from those types of people. And if it has anything to do with his manager over there, well, good luck suing him in the USA! He should move here.

Wow, doesn't this guy understand by now what Journey's catelog does to one's vocals? You'd think he'd take a year off himself instead he's high on his Oprah special trying to make money.

He's got a naturally high pitched voice, so doing Journey catelog won't hurt him. What will is if he starts to sing songs by Aerosmith and such...you know....songs that require an extremely powerful and raspy voice. And about the money, I think it's more about trying to please his fans by making appearances and doing what he truly enjoys doing most.....then anything else.

I believe these shows are to benefit his foundation for kids, so maybe people will be willing to dig a bit deeper and pay more knowing it's going to a good cause. I wonder if he's ever tried stand up comedy?

I guess Rachel Ann Go and the AMMO band are doing these shows for free then? I don't think so. It's been said before and I'll bring it up again, If the band is truly brothers in arms or what not, why not do a Journey show just for his charity? That would be bigger than all of these little shows he's doing playing as a cover singer.

Jon and Neal do know charity, From articles I have read about the band over the last 30 years, they along with Perry, Smitty, Augeri and most of the previous members have given tremendously to various causes over the years. They just don't have their PR people banging people over the head with it continuously.

Yep, at Raley field. Journey has always been charitable. This myth that they only became more giving since Pineda showed up is hogwash.
I would venture to guess that the contributions that Perry, Herbie and all the band members past and present have given to charity would probably be well with in the seven digit range.

Even the setup for the people running that flood charity or whatever it was probably wasn't transparent enough to see where the money was really going. It's hard enough to track charitable contributions in a developed country like here, imagine giving to organizations overseas where you really have to wonder where the money is going.
When I worked in a refuge camps for the Air Force in the Philippines, Pakistan, Africa, etc. even handing stuff to the people personally didn't guarantee anything as some of them would sell their relief goods for money as soon as they stepped out the gate or even worse be shaken down by local gangs, even corrupt police/government officials who would turn around and put the stuff on the black market. Very disheartening.

No. My friend went last year and said it was jam packed, about two thousand or more, and that Arnel was feeling the love from the audience. His fans had been living off the Zoo videos for well over a year and they were estatic to finally hear him sing those covers in person. She felt sorry for Lani b/c it was clear from the audience reaction Arnel was the draw.

Didn't they do something this last year in the Bay area?

I'm sure they've all given a nice chunk of change to his charity.

Yep, at Raley field. Journey has always been charitable. This myth that they only became more giving since Pineda showed up is hogwash.
I would venture to guess that the contributions that Perry, Herbie and all the band members past and present have given to charity would probably be well with in the seven digit range.

That's true. I do wonder why they haven't done something for his charity? Well, Neal did go over to the Philippines, but not the same.
