Yeah ... touring the world in a new musical direction sure seems to prove your point.![]()
If they wanted to, Journey could stay in the U.S. for ever and play 75 shows a year with nothing but the greatest hits. But they're not. They're taking their new music and singer to 20+ countries. Wrong again!

That argument has sucked assholes since about 1987.
What he said.
Besides, if this album is one of their best in a long time, then it really matters not if their last album goes out on a high. Ross said in an interview that there will be a Journey as
long as Arnel lasts. They will still tour, regardless of whether they record new music or not. As far as those that believe Journey is gonna retire after this tour, well, stand to be proven wrong when they run 5 more years after this. Cash that check.

What a super lame excuse or reason, if that's what it is.

BINGO!
My guess is that once the album is released that it'll go back to business as usual, and they're not in the U.S. until well after the album release.Melissa wrote:So in other words, nobody plan on recording any parts of the J shows this summer and trying to youtube them, even though that's been done for years now, and tons of other bands don't seem to care it will affect who comes to see future shows. That does make sense for the new stuff, since no one even knows what the songs are supposed to sound like yet, so hearing them for the first time on youtube is definitely not the way to do them justice. I can understand that totally. It's just the old stuff being taken down too that doesn't make sense.

We're on the same page, Mel. The only thing I can think of is that it's far easier to simply wipe out someone's entire account, rather than sift through each video one at a time. And, unfortunately, that makes sense. Me? I'd be a prick and put the videos back on there every day.![]()

Kind of like a grown up version of hide and seek!

If he isn't going to be out there in the spot light, well Neal and Co. isn't going to be getting any more pub than SP can legally control.

Perry didn't do shit. Journey's management had those videos pulled.

I still maintain that this all about ticket sales. The band/mgt doesn't want any potential concert goers getting any false impressions due to YT. Their intent is to make people go to the shows to see what current Journey is all about.
Whether or not it's new Journey vs. old, they are embarking on a major world tour. They don't need any interference when it comes to someone deciding to buy a concert ticket. I mean, I'm sure they don't want anyone NOT going because of a poor quality YT vid of a differnt guitar player, drummer, or pianist.
I guess the AP vs SP argument is a little different animal. We'll see.
later~
