But even that is flawed.
You claim that his moral decision changed Journey's style, right? Producing a "cookie-cutter album" in Revelation.
But, if I'm not mistaken, you were outspokenly opposed to this album before its release, correct? Though it's quality is certainly subjective, I think we can all agree that the style of Eclipse is absolutely different from Revelation.
How can you justify your prejudice when the styles, approaches, and content of the two album are clearly different? As I said, what it comes down to is that supporting or opposing an album ardently before hearing it in full is indicative of bias. There's no avoiding it.

I wasn't opposed to Revelation, per se....i liked the style of the album....I just didn't care for Arnel's vocals.

Preference is preference, man. If you dislike Arnel's voice, that's fine. If you dislike Perry's voice, that's fine too. No one's regulating against opinions.

But while listening to Eclipse might reaffirm one's bias for or against it, one is still biased if he or she says "lawlz it's gonna be the greatest thing everrrrrrrrr!" or "bullshit its gonna suck" before listening to it.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Now your argument is flawed. In the first example, the fan is just going to end up liking it because it's Journey - independent of the quality. The fan may even talk him/herself into liking it.....

In the 2nd example, the liking of it(or in this instance, the disliking of it) is due to the fact that the style has changed. Being a Journey release is secondary.....

We were all called racists when we were against Journey getting Arnel. I was a big complainer about it. I quit doing that when Dean made a great post about giving the guy a chance, and I took a step back and looked at what a big dickhead I was being. (Hmmm, my spell check didn't underline "dickhead" ) But from that point on, I figured I'd do just that and give him a chance.

I think he had, but he came out in defense of Arnel because so many were blindly complaining.

The shit has died down, as far as Arnel is concerned. I don't know if that's acceptance, resignation, or that Arnel has grown into his shoes.

Man, I remember the day that it dawned on me, "Man, this guy is a really good singer, aside from his accent," and decided to give him a chance. I started supporting him on here and it instantly became Saint John versus the rest of MR. It was, at that time, Susie and I versus the world for awhile. My PM box was full of complaints every fucking day! :x Then, slowly, and I mean slowly, the board started changing its tune. 4 years down the road, the board seems to have a pretty healthy mix of supporters and non-supporters of the band.

lol, yes, you're right, but you didn't have the personal connection that I did with so many posters. I had been to more than a couple of get togethers, so the mud slinging was much nastier toward me! I liked it, though.

Exactly, lol. I was brand new, joining when Jeremey was still rumored to be the new Journey vocalist. I had a free ride for quite a while. :)

Speaking of which, someone told me Frontiers played here just the other night! Had no idea, and wonder if it's the same band? At a $10 cover charge, I'm thinking it's not likely.
