I actually like the direction....and the keyboards of course (Eric!).....

The production is different than I would have chosen....but I am sure financial constraints were in place....and, NOT BAD, just different is all....

Great Job.....be proud....and get out of that cover band and go do your OWN thing!!!! hahahahaha.....

I have had my own vocal issues lately....thyroid cancer....working on it, but might not sing again...but I can write!!

Vocally you however sound really good! Dumb question....what vocal chain did you use???

Congrats!!

JV

Thank you so much Joe, so sorry to hear about your issues brother - Will touch bases this weekend via email. My vocal chain was set up through Vic's production...All I did was record my vocals along with my demos on my end and send Vic the unprocessed vocal takes. There were definitely production concessions with the budget that I had in mind. Overall though I'm really happy with the work Vic did, and of course Eric and Vic's music as well LOL! Unfortunately the cover band pays the bills haha, otherwise I'd love to tour as a solo singer/songwriter...Hopefully more people will be exposed to my original tunes once I'm back on the road and able to promote the CD a little better!

Take care man!

I also want to say that I completely disagree the other musicians are sub par. I really enjoy some of the guitar solos on GU, GCYSHG and ELT. Very musical and tasteful playing. Every time I hear GCYSHG, it's is kind of the opposite path of Never Walk Away. The lyrics really paint a picture of the whole situation. I'm rambling...

Thank you man, As Matt mentioned, "Going Under" was written with a different guitar player for a totally different sounding project. I think it's inclusion on ELT would have made the CD a little too lopsided between the AOR/melodic rock leanings and some of my more eclectic material. "Going Under" was also written specifically as a Journey sounding song with the specific intent of making a Journey-esque CD to market in tandem with Frontiers, the tribute show. I think if I wanted to do a balls out, no holds barred Journey sounding release, GU as well as the more Journey-esque arrangement of CYSHG would have fit perfectly!

Oooh I say! Balls out???
I don't recommend that sort of behaviour!

CD gets better with every play.

And personal differing opinions on mix etc aside, there's some great tunes on there Jeremey!
LOVING
Stay, Hoping For You, [voice, b vox and guitars - all fab fab fabulously haunting] This Is Your Life, Goodnight Song and What Can I Do in particular.

But they are all great. I'm singing along to most of them like I've had the CD for years and that's a good sign of a good song.

Now, when are you going to start that vocal health tips from Jeremey thread?

LOL thanks Susie, I am really glad the CD has got legs with a lot of the people who have got their copy. It's really a rewarding feeling to know that people have connected with the music, especially as it's so difficult to get any sort of traction with press, radio, etc. I am finding that the CD will need to find its own audience without the benefit of falling into any sort of "niche" marketing - which I guess is a good thing when it comes to my goal of making an honest record full of good music - But it's a hard road to travel when trying to plug it into what the magazines/blogs/radio people want and expect to hear. I still feel that the CD has legs and I hope people continue to spread the word about it as much as possible. It's funny, days will pass with little to no activity on the CD, then I'll get 5 orders all in one day from France or something odd like that. It really is weird and impossible to figure out, LOL.

As far as my vocal tips thread, who wants to hear vocal tips from a guy who still can hardly sing! LOL....Just kidding...But there are tons of resources out there, and one place I've found that has a lot of great vocal tips is http://www.themodernvocalist.com/ - A good site worth checking out!
