I did cry for the '04 loss...but only because it was 10 below zero and I paid $2500 for tickets to the game and froze my ass off watching the Steelers get thumped!

Thumped? How about massacred. We had our guts ripped out, and they feasted on our bones after for a little treat for speaking on command. Fuckers. I'm sure they were glad they had those tapes.

Okay. You know what? You're right...... now get to work with that MSpaint and post a pic of Bettman giving Crosby a BJ at center ice!!!

Ok...time for the heavy artillery...I know the Redwings are an amazing hockey team...but how many Superbowls have the Lions won?? Oh wait...they have never even BEEN to one.

At least the lowly Penguins have won a couple of Stanley Cups.

That shithole of a city called Detroit has NOTHING but the Redwings.

Stu, as a Lions fan, I have to inform you that there were championships WELL before the modern day Stuporbowl. The superbowl format was TV centered. And Detroit won a few championships back in the day. Of course no one was watching, but they happened just the same.

I cried once when Canada won 8-5 against Sweden in World Championship semi final game. I had put $5 bet on 8-5 and when they scored the 8-5 empty net goal which paid me $2200 richer, I cried for a second or two, but those were happy tears :) It was interrupted by my dorm mates which were ALL cheering for Sweden of course and they gave me the finger by just lookin at me before they all went to their rooms.... GO CANADA :P

3-1 FUCKIN A :)

What a goal :D

Didn't Wonder Boy Brady and his Pats get beaten by the Giants in Superbowl XLII? So, technically, since the Giants were Super Bowl champions, and since they lost in the Divisional Round to the Eagles.. how does Brady going down in the first game have ANY relevance to Super Bowl XLIII? The Patriots didn't even make the playoffs and couldn't beat teams like the Jets and Dolphins to go along with one of the easiest schedules in the league.

I hate having dipshit debates with this. Gets old.

Back to hockey before I burn my asshole out with clorox.

Yawn. Pretty much what I figured. Detroit always finds a way to win. Penguins blew this game in the second period.

Solving Osgood is a daunting issue, but if any team has the fire power it's the Penguins. I just think they're another year or two away. Detroit is too deep and has too much experience.

Pens out played RW in the first two periods, but unfortunately, like B said, Detroit is a lucky team & the boards bit Fluery TWICE. How can you spot a team like Detroit 2 goals? Pens played well and it's an encouragement seeing fire after watching last year. Noone said it was going to be sweep. Pens will take it to them tomorrow and hope for Flower to get use to those fast boards.

Though the Wings did ring a couple of the posts. Yeah the Wings are lucky. So lucky they've made the playoffs 18 straight years and are finding a way to beat the Pens and all their #1 draft picks.

Oh I know! And watching them in all the playoffs, I know they are a team that comes back stronger after a loss, not weaker. They can do it 8)

Not talking about 18 years. I'm talking about Saturday, May 30th 2009. Those first two goals didn't even touch a hockey stick. We, sorry BJG, I mean they played you, I mean, them good and I see this series going deep. They struck first blood, now it's time to answer. This is what I expected, win tomorrow and split 1-1 in Detroit going home to Pittsburgh, then it's anyone's game. Should be fun. :D

The commentators mentioned how Fleury is sloppy with his angles. Maybe he can work on his fundamentals before Sunday?

You have one more shot at them before they get their leading scorer back. Rumour is he's playing in game 3!

Second of all, GOOD FOR THE MAGIC!!!!!!!!! I have been too into the hockey playoffs/finals that I haven't followed them at all but this IS exciting! My entire extended family are all watching the Magic the same as I am watching the Pens, and they don't get why I am choosing hockey over basketball  The Magic waited a long time!!!!!!!!! Fluery flops and flails too much, and rarely gets any help from his defense men when crunched around the net, and he uses his body on the ice to go after pucks way too often, and that comes with being itchy with no defense around you. Look at that third goal scored. Jordan S. had no idea where the puck was and had a chance to make a play. This leaves Fluery with too much net to defend and pretty much is forced to stop a perfect shot on goal. 11 needed to make that play. We'll see how he responds but I'm not worried about the Flower, nor am I worried about this loss.

I'll use this quote in the hopes I don't get sued by George Lucas..."I sense great fear in you"

The pressure for game 2 is squarely on the Pens. They know they can not go down 0-2 to the Wings. They know there's no way they can beat them 4 out of 5. :D
Anyway, I'd hang on to that av of Crosby in the #66 jersey if I were you!

Dan, the RW's only scored 1 goal also. They did not put the puck in the net. The puck just happend to find it's way in, with help from the goalie.

It's one god damn game for Christ sake. There is no panic. Can anybody break down what a 7 game series means? If anything, we knew it was going to be tough opening in Detroit. It's not expected, but it's no shock to lose or even split to a team with home ice. Like I said I expected these first 2 to split. The Wings haven't won shit yet. There's another game to be played less than 24 hours from now. If the Pen's go down 0-2 then the bar will be raised to slightly panicked, but I expect to win tomorrow.

There's another game to be played less than 24 hours from now. If the Pen's go down 0-2 then the bar will be raised to slightly panicked, but I expect to win tomorrow.

They said the Cavs would win and Orlando had no chance. Orlando is GOING to the finals. You cant' base a series win on ONE game for sure. They'll see :P (sorry if that was too "support group" for you RWF. I don't deny being a girl, so you don't have to keep slapping me for it :P I'm STILL not leaving your male dominated thread  )

Dude you said yourself your goalie flops and flails because his defensemen suck around the net. Throwing the puck at a goalie who acts as though he's simultaneously going through an epileptic fit and outbreak of turrets syndrome sounds like a solid and good strategy to me!!
