FRONTIERS Show in Virginia - March 5

Hey everyone!

Normally I don't get out and do a lot of band promotion stuff on the internet (not allowed on the Backtalk anyway), but for those of you in the southeast US I do want to mention the Frontiers show coming up on Saturday March 5 in Roanoke, VA.

The reason I'm going out of my way to promote the show is because we have basically taken the proceeds of every show we've performed since October to pay for this event, and we are hosting it at arguably one of the best mid-sized music halls in the mid atlantic region - Shaftman Performance Hall at Jefferson Center. We've had to bring on some corporate sponsors as well...The point is it's going to be a fantastic show, and we're really looking forward to doing a night of Journey music in an intimate concert-hall type setting, instead of a bar or corndawg festival type thing.

We're pretty much going all out on the set list, with all the greatest hits to some of the TIME 3 outtakes, to some of Perry solo stuff....Obviously, we focus on the Perry years of the band, but the biggest compliment we always get from people at our shows is the respect that we show for the band and the material.

At any rate, if you are anywhere in the VA, WV, NC, SC, MD area, you want to check out the show (people travel from all of those states and more to see our shows, so don't laugh...).

Check out the commercial for the show at www.journeytributeband.com/commercial2.wmv

Thanks - Shameless Plug Over and Out...

hey jrnyman, the show went great - had about 400 people there, and it was just a great venue. i don't think any regular posters from this board went to see the show.

however, we have updated our new website with video from the show. check it out at www.journeytributeband.com !

thanks for asking...

Hey Jeremey,

I think you really put on a great show. I have not seen it but from the clips on your web site; it looks like you put your heart and soul into your performance.

I'm really sure you have lots of fan who appreciate all the hard work you do to bring such great music and vocals.

Keep up the great work!

any way you want it is our encore, lots of times with a slow song before it. we've done "why can't this night go on forever" on many occasions. this past show we did "foolish heart" and then "any way you want it," just to change things up for our hometown audience. it's the best closing song ever. by anyone.

I normally despise cover bands (frankly, I think Hugo sucks! Don't get his appeal at all) but this Jeremy guy seems to be the real deal. I just checked out the clips and audio and I think he has a really great voice.

Jeremey is definitely the real deal, Hugo isn't bad, he just doesn't have the depth and feeling when he sings that Perry did(and probably still would if he were singing). When Jeremey sings he put all of himself into the performance and you really feel the songs instead of just hearing them. If you ever get the chance to see Frontiers, don't pass it up, it will be one of the best shows you have seen.

Ok, just have to say this now....

Frontiers is not a cover band, they are a Tribute band. Is there a difference??? Absolutely, a cover band usually plays songs by lots of different artists and their performance reflects their interpretation of the songs. A tribute band generally plays the songs of only one artist/group and strives to perform them as close to the original as possible. If you have ever heard Frontiers, you will understand what I am saying. If you heard them from outside a club and didn't know who it was, you would think it was Journey.
