I'm looking forward to hearing a new Journey CD and do hope to attend an "Evening with Journey" if that is what they plan on doing...

I'm also a Steve Perry fan (always have been). I respect the fact that he no longer performs (which is very sad considering the man has an amazing voice) For selfish reasons, I was hoping to see him in concert just one more time. Apparently, and according to him, whatever his promise was, "the promise continues...". Perhaps it is for him to be happy no matter what path he chooses for himself. Isn't that what it's all about anyway? I respect his privacy and whatever decisions he makes to perform or not to perform does not affect my life in any way. All I can say is, Thank you for the music!

As for Journey.....BRING IT ON GUYS! I'm looking forward to the new cd!

Now we have another one making very poor assumptions about how we Perry fans feel towards him. Your way off base!

We Perry fans RESPECT whatever decision HE makes about making more music & performing or not.

If we were "bitter as you say" about Perry, then HE would NOT have had ALL the love & support from ALL his fans for all these many years & continues to have from his fans!!!!

Just look at sales of the Greatest Hit DVD... that says it all right there!!! It went Gold in 2 months time & platinium in 4 months. I heard it was still going strong too.


Perry has GIVEN the fans A LOT of music over the years. I appreciate Perry for EVERTHING that he has given & done for us for so many, many years!!!!

It is too bad though that some of you fans, feel the need to make trouble with Perry fans that have different points of views than you, but I realize it is just your insecurities talking for you.

2. My post wasn't for Perry fans...it was for Perry only fans...and it came about after reading their bitterness towards Journey's fans excitement over their favorite group. I am a Perry fan. I wish Perry would re-join Journey in some capacity and I would be bitter if it was he I chose to follow instead of Journey.

I did NOT START this post up, I ONLY RESPONDED to this fan's post that "made assumptions" about Perry fans & HOW they feel towards Perry not making music now.

And if you had the ability to read more clearly, you would know all throughout this board, that I'm ONLY referring to the fans who behave like yourself.

PROPERRY:

Journey fans love talking about their band. They also hate having their band dissed...especially by former fans who could (and should) be helping them get to the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame. That is when Journey fans get mad and strike back.

In case you didn't know, the majority of people (in general) either hate Journey or have no idea who they are. Journey needs more hits to prove they have staying power IMO. All of Journey's fans past and present should support the band and try to help get it the recognition it deserves.

When Steve Perry decided to retire, some fans who claimed to be Journey fans lashed out out the band and its fans. They became Perryonlies and have tried to ruin every Journey related board for the last decade or so. Every so often (like after reading several disparaging comments against the band in some posts here) I get sick of it and strike back. You will find that most Journey fans love Steve Perry, love his work with Journey and also supported his solo work. Perryonlies on the other hand don't give any respect to fans of Journey or any work that the band does without Perry.

We should all stick together and support Journey....but bitterness always gets in the way for the Perryonlies.

The RocknDeano Man is fair and respectful to ALL the fans of Journey....classic and otherwise! He enjoyed Steve Perry and misses him but continues to enjoy the band and supports them! HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE! He allows the fans of all incarnations of Journey to speak freely and supports their interest UNLESS UNLESS UNLESS they spend their time badgering and bullying those who do not share the same feelings!

I think we should be able to respond with some sort of passion, because if we posess such passion, we should express such passion. Not when so many of the posts are destructive towards each other. How is it a 'good thing' when a few people like to come on to a Journey board to do nothing but bitch and moan that things are not the way they would like them to be, and it's all Journey's fault, and Neal is Satan, and things will never be the same, and unJourney sucks?

That is the type of 'passion' that dominates this board now. A few people directing the traffic to those topics because it ticks everybody else off. How is that 'passion' a 'very good thing'?

It's destructive behavior. So, instead of this forum being used for the 'discussion' of Journey...it is used for the attempted destruction of anything Journey, and people defending the band, or attacking Perry in response.

I can play that game...But, the others who come here to go down that road should not PRETEND that they are here for a civil discusion - because they are not...and they will not get one from me.

And, at the same time, the anomynity of the forum allows some Perry fans to take the title of 'woman' and put it far down on the list of their meaningful attributes. I also doubt very much that these so called 'women' would act the way they do in public. If they did they'd be locked up in a rubber room. I spose they'd like that tho...the accoustics may be good enough to sing "Somewhere There's Hope" over and over again.
