As of Feb. 5, 2005:

The "Essential Journey" CD went "Gold", and then "Platinum"...

...on the SAME DAY

Here's the link for the sales chart:

As I posted in a previous thread http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=11275:

I believe the date listed was just the last time the chart was updated. And I think the info is to show each level the CD has sold."

While trying to find out more about this I came across some more info I found interesting. "Multi-disc sets" such as Essential Journey need to meet the following requirements:

"Multi-Disc Set
Quantity:
Gold: 500,000 units. Package must include two or more Cds (or its tape and album equivalent.)
Quantity:
Platinum: One million units. Package must include two or more CDs ( or its tape and album equivalent.)
Quantity:
Multi-Platinum: Two million units. Package must include two or more Cds (or its tape and album equivalent.)

Requirements:
*Each unit within set counts as one unit toward certification.

*Minimum running time 100 minutes.
Requirements:
*Each unit within set counts as one unit toward certification.

*Minimum running time 100 minutes."

When you apply that, it means that Essential Journey only needed to sell 500,000 units to acheive Platinum Certification. I never knew that.

Also, I saw that music video longform only takes 100,000 units to be called "Platinum".
