No Deen?

According to Andrews' news post of the highly anticipated Journey CD, "Steve, Neal, Ross and Jon will be singing lead on the new stuff." Call me nuts, but the best voice on that stage belongs to the drummer...How could they exclude Deeno or maybe Andrew had a typo, or maybe there is a surprise somewhere. This band is too smart to let inadequacies happen. Any thoughts?

The quote I saw on that was on Melodic Rock. It was Deen who was speaking. Maybe he just forgot to include himself. Or maybe he figured his inclusion was understood.

I'd be shocked if everyone but him sang on the new CD. Here's hoping that's not the case.

I don't think you will hear Deen on lead on new Journey material. Maybe he will do a duet, but I doubt it will be lead.

One, it is said that he sounds even more like Perry than Steve does...Journey doesn't need that for new material. But it works great in concert for some of the older material.

Two, I am not sure Deen feels the need to be out front with Journey. They already have a frontman in Steve. And it is an added bonus that everyone else can sing too. I would be willing to bet that it all depends on what the song calls for. Which brings me back to point one.

Three, I know there will be other opportunities for Deen to sing.
