How does this affect your theory that all the best seats go to non-Journey fans? I am sure will balk at the price...but compare those prices with U2 tickets up front and what do you get?
From www.journeymusic.com and Back Talk:
"Journey is pleased to offer VIP ticket packages for this summer's major tour! These premium ticket packages will be offered through iloveallaccess.com.
Each VIP Ticket package includes premium seating and features not available anywhere else! The 5-Star package includes tickets within the first 10 rows, the brand new Journey CD (Autographed), an exclusive Journey T-shirt (only given to VIP ticket holders), a discount coupon for the Journey store, and a new photo of the band members! Those purchasing the 5-Star package will have their own private VIP room to enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks prior to the Journey concert!
The 4-Star VIP Ticket package includes seating in the first 20 rows, exclusive T-shirt, photo and a discount coupon for the Journey store."

You know what? Fuck that.
I'd rather see Styx two or three times then have to pay that amount to see Journey (or anybody else) ONCE. And, they just jacked up the price of the first 20 rows to $125/ticket because the only way you can buy those tickets is with this package. You can't even take the chance with Ticketmaster. $250 to have two decent seats to see Journey? I don't think so.

That's per ticket.
The ticket prices for everyone else: $42 and $25.
No value here.

So, are you saying you should go to EBay and spend $200-$250 for tickets up front and NOT get any 'extras'? Should you go to a broker and pay $185-$250 and not get any 'extras'? I guess I don't understand what you are saying...
Hi Dave. I am stating if you can't get tickets during the regular sale, you should go to eBay over a Ticketbroker. You get two tickets on eBay for a total of about $200 to $250. Sometimes less. Plus, you know exactly where you are sitting.
I am predicting most of the seats will not be in the first five rows with the Journey VIP.JourneyTroll wrote:The best U2 tickets are on the floor or Ellipse and sell for between $49 and $54.00. I'll be on the floor in Boston.
This surprises me because here in Denver it was $125 for decent seats...not even the best seats! And then there was that whole disaster with U2 presales... And none of that included anything more than the ticket for the show itself!
jrnyman28 wrote:JourneyTroll wrote:Paul McCartney is charging $250 per seat at his shows too.
With no benefits. At least you get a VIP room before the show with Food and drink, a t-shirt, an autographed CD, a piture of the band and a gift card to the Journey store for your money.
The prices are a bit high. I agree. But it is pretty decent package for diehard fans. And compared to many recent concert ticket prices, these are not far off.

The prices are going to be based on the Venue and local costs. Wolftrap prices are $125 for Star 5; $75 for Star 4. The Monker has spoken.
My mistake: $150 for 5 Star

This is probably accurate. The packages are presale. Once the presale ends, the remaining tickets will be offered up.

What I posted came from a BT thread where Journeycat replied with those amounts. No venue was specified.
Even so, $75/ticket is STILL way more then I'm willing to pay.
This is simply a complete rip-off. Instead of 'brokers' getting the money, this third party pre-sale place gets it.

Journeycat had some later updates, where my info came from. Think about it: A $50 ticket becomes $60 once you add-in all the surcharges and shipping, if you order on-line. Plus this includes the new CD, plus a T-shirt. So the best deal would be the 4-Star price, considering the venue you attend.
What's the last concert you attended Monker that didn't cost you less the $50 a ticket, including parking, t-shirt ect...?? and what year??

Monker wrote:Journeycat had not made her update when I made my post in this thread.
Ah, I knew that
You people should stop making excuses for this.
No ones making excuses.
Unless they changed their plan, everybody gets a CD who buys a ticket.
I have NEVER bought a t-shirt at a Journey concert. I haven't bought a concert shirt in at least ten years...because they are also WAY over priced.
I'd have to verify my ticket, but for the Main Event tour, I paid about $55 TOTAL for third row center tickets.
Yes that a good deal, if you look at what you got: 3 bands, playing almost full sets, in the 3rd row. But I was their too see Journey, and their, what 90 min set.
$75/ticket is WAY too much for a Journey concert. If others want to pay that much for a random ticket in the first 20 rows and a t-shirt, that's fine with me - but I'm not.
That's cool. This is the land of the free and brave right?

Except if the U2 shows in Boston are anything like the U2 shows in the LA area--they sold out immediately so people were left with inflated ebay or thousand dollar broker tix. BTW, I notice the best ticket price for actual seats at the U2 Boston shows is $165. GA is great for a smallish venue, but sucks for large venues. You have to spend a lot of time waiting in line if you want to be able to see anything except the video screens. If I'm watching a vid screen I may as well be in a balcony seat. Have fun at the U2 show, but once again--stop comparing U2 to Journey. They obviously have different status in the market.

I have the GA tickets from the Fan Club, and I will have a very good chance being in the ellipse.
Journey is charging almost 4X the face value per ticket to see them, and you will be in the first ten rows.

NealIsGod wrote:I agree with those of you who think these prices are exorbitant. Personally, I would pay $150 to see Journey for 3 and a half hours, with a t-shirt and whatever else they give you. It is ridiculous, but I am also a sports fan. And those ticket prices are ridiculous, too. But to me, this is like seeing your favorite team in the Super Bowl. Journey has never played a concert this long, spanning so many years and so many albums. It is an event, not just another concert.
Here's a question for all of you -- answer honestly. If this tour was with Steve Perry returning to Journey, would you have less of a problem paying the $150? I am not trying to instigate anything, I am not a Perry freak. Just wondering if some of the resentment is because it is not the Journey we all listened to throughout the late 70's through 1997.
