As if the photo of Steve playing guitar in the recording studio wasn't proof enough, Neal told a fan after a recent Sirkus show that Steve indeed will be playing rythm guitar on this upcoming cd.

My guess- Steve will play rythm guitar on stage, as well (a task previously relegated to Jon Cain).
Now when someone else is taking a turn at the mic, Journey's lead vocalist can keep himself busy on the guitar. Hey, sure beats stomping around on stage with a musically supefluous tamborine, right? Cain, I imagine, will remain stationary for most of the show, bound behind the whale. Then again, maybe he wil join Steve and they will both pick up a guitar.

8) ...I'm sure there are times when keyboards and rythm guitar could be used simultaneously to enhance the live sound, making it much richer. I can't wait to hear Journey's new sound on Generations.

I think this is great for the live sound of Journey! You don't lose keys for guitar anymore. Everything should sound fuller. And Journey can now feel free to rearrange some of the classic hits to continue to give them a fresh new sound.
